Lol. I was wondering why it looked so small. You should have an EV run group at your private track day.

It would be one 7-minute session - a warm up lap and a limp back lap.

Need some way to trailer up at least 2 of them... I'd be worried about the car falling apart on track though....

Maybe 4 laps if the car doesn't break down... but likely only 2. LOL

Joe/Ivan - were there any signs your wheels were bent? For example tyres loosing pressure or shimmy at the wheel? Joe did you have an noticeable off which caused impact to the wheel?

Macca,

We believe the bent occured from hitting the outside edge/dropoff of a berm at T3W of Thunderhill. No big off. After that track day, we noticed shimmying coming from a wheel. At first, we thought it was a loose centerlock nut, but they were tight. Then when the wheels came off for the tire change, the bend was found during the balancing process.

Turn 3 west is shown in this video: Watch the triangular corner that comes up in this video at 1:49. The rear left wheel was dropping off the outer edge and ended up getting bent after multiple hits like this.

make sure your valve stems are tight after tire changes. The wheel repair shop didn't have it tightened down all of the way and we lost 2 sessions at laguna on friday (more to come on that) trying to figure out why the tire was losing pressure

Went to Sonoma raceway yesterday. SIX 991 GT3s there yesterday. 2 997.1 GT3s. Zero 997.2 GT3. Zero 997 and one 996 at Laguna. 997.2 have disappeared. Would love to hear what all the 997 guys that claimed 991GT3s were for a fluffier crowd and would only be seen at c&c events have to say about that.

Macca - I have had two bent wheels. In both cases, there was shimmy. In one case it was so bad that I had to cut the drive home short and call a tow truck! In both cases, the bends were visible on the outer edge on the rim. And also, my wheel mounting shop has a machine that readily detects bends too small for the eye to see.

In the first case, I tracked out wide and hit an uneven transition between the road course and the oval course at a track. In the second case, I drove over a curb in the middle of a parking lot where there was no reason for the curb to be there. Blew out the tire too.

Ivan
