I have read from a couple of sources that soft works best on most tracks unless the track is extremely smooth.

When I tracked Scarlett at Buttonwillow, I pressed the button - and that's a very bumpy track. On the old cars, I would leave it off there. I honestly have yet to really notice the difference, on vs: off. Very different to the old cars!

Thanks, guys. I had a feeling since the suspension is 'adaptive', it wouldn't make a big difference. I just totally forgot the button existed! My spyder doesn't have one!

Joe, are you planning on installing the Cup shims? If so, are you installing it yourself?

Cup shims have already been installed in the front. You need them to get the -2.7 camber I'm running. I had my shop do the install and alignment. They are getting rear shims for me now too since I need more camber in the rear too and the rear eccentric bolts are near their max.

Joe,

Funny, I did the same thing at Big Willow. Remembered to push the button for the last session. The car felt different going over some of the rough spots. Big Willow has some big cracks in the pavement (Coke can will fit!) so the tighter damper setting was a little unsettling. I prefer the PASM in standard.

Competition Autowerks in San Ramon. Great place. The guy there knows his stuff. It's on an abandoned Nike missile base in the middle of nowhere and he only works by referral and appointment. The owner campaigned a 997 GT3 cup and ran 1:48 at Thunderhill with it.

Thanks! Which size shim and how many do you recommend?

^every car is SLIGHTLY different. based on use, a camber setting is determined. then you can shim and or rotate the shock tower to get that camber. that also determine how many and what thickness shim you use. most prosche alignment shops will have the shims.

Mooty is right. The shop will have different sized shims to work with whatever you got. Competition Autowerks has all the shims you need. No need to get them yourself ahead of time

Is he the one that suggested zero toe F/R, or where did that come from?

That was from a certain idiot (me) that requested it. He assumed I knew what I was talking about and did my research on RWS since this was the first 991 he had seen. He almost ignored my request, but figured I knew what I was asking for. I told him to always question me from now on. lol

Btw, zero toe in front is correct. You want toe in at rear

You are not the only idiot, I made the same request for my 993tt! Not a nice feeling even driving it down the road!
