In all honesty, even though I ordered the rollbar in mine, I wonder how much it will do since it is only a half cage.. Not sure of the half cage results...
Also, thx for the time joe, great thread you have.

I've seen three 911s rolled: two 997s and a 996. In at least two of those cases, maybe the third also, the roof was pushed down to the roll bar on at least one side, so the roll bar appeared to help prevent the roof from caving. However, the roll bar, unlike a roll cage, doesn't help much with preventing the A-pillars from bending downwards, so the protection provided by the roll bar is limited.
I've heard that the 991 roof structure may be stronger than the 997, but I haven't seen any solid info to confirm that.

hey guys. yall should check out Chris Smith Racing if you all need a half cage. Chris is a superb guy and engineer. They designed the cage off of out 991 gt3 and it is a great piece very similar to the Porche motorsports one. Chris build Cup and Cayman race cars out of his shop at Road Atlanta. He also has designed a cup style exhaust (center muffler delete). be sure to reach out to him if you have any questions.

That's somewhat speculative, since identical scenarios minus the roll bars didn't occur. But given what happened with the roll bars, risk of injury or death does seem to have been substantially reduced. Fatalities at track events are relatively rare though, very sadly, we've already had one RL member experience fatal injury at a track event in his 991 GT3.

Is this the Cantrell bar you're referring to: http://www.cantrellmotorsport.com/in...ategory_id=398

This thread makes me want to go to track again. Realising I will not be able to do it for at least 5-6 weeks is just crazy!
By the way, Joe, you can get this cable to be able to close your fuse box when Solo is plugged in:
Amazon.com: Low Profile Right/Left Angle OBD 2 II Extension with Flat Ribbon Cable 3'/1m: Automotive
It's flat enough so you can close the cover over it. I forgot to show you how I have it setup.

video, .1 seconds is slower than the shift time, so the data overlay isn't perfect because the car shifts so damn fast. Not important for data read, but I like my videos to look better. 50hz should be much crisper than 10hz through obd2. Lol

Crap. I just sat down tonight thought about the track day and just realized that I never bothered to push the stupid PASM button to put the suspension into sport mode. Any opinions on whether it makes a difference in terms of lap times?
