Engine Swap Dates
#361
Just got the call. Original delivery date: January 15th, delayed to end of February. Engine arrival: June July 14th. Expected delivery: Middle/end of August.
Emma left me a message so I called PCNA and got a random rep. I asked where Ian was, and the CSR said Emma is the concierge in charge of communicating the swap dates. Alrightie then. I told them to have Ian call me back.
Don is a senior customer service specialist in charge of the west coast. I've spoken to him before and I would rather try to sort things out with him than Ian/Andrea/Emma or one of the CSR script readers.

"Muffler Bypass - Those that have this are you going to take yours' off before letting them take car to port?? I would suggest asking what the protocol on this will be. Reason - It is not the mod. that is the concern but they may just throw on the new engine with the new exhaust and not pay attention to the mod.(then be out ~ $1500) If they do reinstall do you not want the original 3rd muffler just in case when you sell at a future time you can provide?"
I'm taking my bypass off and I'm leaving the oem muffler in a box in the back seat. You can have the Sharkwerks for your car when it comes in Jim...

Could you post your VIN number (last 4 digits) and Vehicle Completion Date (V300 date) so that I can add that info to the long list of others produced in that timeframe? You can PM me if you would prefer. Thanks!
Oops - one other question - why do you have an expected delivery of middle/end of August? Everyone else is being quoted 3-4 weeks after engine arrival, which would be early July.

I'm not really involved but this has puzzled me as well. Is it possible there are 3 dates......engine arrival, engine swap, and car returned.....and that people are being confused (or quoted incorrectly) about the first two? That said, I was only given two dates; engine swap 6/9-6/15 and car return 7/7-7/13, so the 3-4 weeks you reference....

Just spoke with Edmund who gave me the following:
Engine arrival at port week of 6/23;
Car pick up for shipping to facility week of 6/23;
Car return week of 7/21.
They are quoting 3-4 weeks out of caution, but expect the car will be done sooner. PCNA techs along with PAG techs are doing the work. Couldn't say where the swap will be done.
So same news as everyone else, and timing similar to cars of same VIN sequence.
VIN 3242
Delivery 1/28

Sorry folks, that was a typo - July, not June, and not exactly thriller about it. My car has been at port since February so you'd think they'd be able to get to it sooner.
Interesting thing, though. If the stop sale had been announced just a few days later, my car would've been on the boat to Hawaii already. The second GT3 ordered here arrived on time in January. So the question at our dealer is if Porsche's no exceptions decree that these swaps be done at one of the three locations will extend to the GT3 already here.

Called Don, and he said that he has no information because GT3 concierges are handling it, but if that's what they said it is what it is and cannot be changed. Anyone can share a number for any of the concierges besides Ian (I'm calling him since yesterday with no response or call back)?

Ok, I spoke with Ian. He was nice and very professional - told me after he got my voicemail, he could not leave for the weekend leaving me in such a distress :-). I appreciated that.
Anyway, to the point - he said my car was marked as returned via repurchase, and thus was put in a different queue. They will correct that, and I should get early July re-delivery like others who had their cars manufactured in November. Told me to expect a call with exact dates on Monday or Tuesday. I am very glad he called back before the weekend so that I do not have to keep worrying. He also mentioned that there were other customers whose cars were mis-categorized in a similar way, and their delivery dates are going to be corrected as well. I believe he meant IvanBurns.
Now I need to get a loaner because my daily is due for some service. Another battle to get some better loaner. My dealer does not give anything better than base Cayman, apparently.

PCNA told me I will get a base 911 as a loaner. My dealer gave me a C4S cab.
