What's the big deal? Car has a problem, Porsche will fix it.

I find it amusing that the ones most fired up about this problem don't/wont own the car...

+1. My car is still a week or two from arriving, but I still just want one thing--my car!

It's probably annoying to owners who have their cars already but I thought that was the right thing to do. Timing is questionable but at least it will be handled properly.

Nope never had a 997.2 GT3 or an order for 991 GT3. You're right just an internet troll here!

...best not to install Sharkwerks muffler bypass this coming Monday, as I scheduled with local Porsche shop. Any exhaust or engine mods now would be ill-advised, pending recall and further info from PAG.

The thing is it's still not clear if all GT3's are affected. I'm thinking most probably all are though. Would be great if it was just a check and all turned up to be ok

I am praying it is something simple and obscure rather than internal. No point in worrying until we here though. I'll bet this opens up some allocations.

So many cars have been driven and pushed hard with no problems so I'm thinking its a precautionary measure until they can pin point the issue and identify which batch is affected. Like I said, its the right thing to do. I rather see them do this than just recalling 10 cars and find out the 11th car had the same issue.

They probably have a few engines running at full power since the issue occurred to figure out the failing points but non have fail so they are scratching their heads now.

Assuming it is a defective tube as some are reporting I will take delivery of the car in a heartbeat. Frankly I am relieved because had it been a replacement piston rod and some other major surgery I was conflicted as to whether I would take the car.

I suspect Porsche is being cautious and those of us who are waiting while the boat docks may not be impacted at all. An inspection in PDI would confirm whether our cars need replacement parts and if not there would be no delay in delivery.

You're making a lot of good sense to me, Nick.
