Fanning the flames: A friend was at a local dealership today. He's friends with many who work there, including GM etc. OFFICIALLY...they are not supposed to say ANYTHING. UNOFFICIALLY....here's what he was told: "There seems to be issues with PARTS LEFT INSIDE THE MOTOR AT THE FACTORY."
Just adding my 2 cents to the rumor mill

For real i think GM and Chevy are trying to get back at Porsche for the sinkhole in Bowling green!

I believe the panamera had an issue. Its well documented on youtube. Look up "hitler panamera" and you'll get a kick out of it.
As for the GT3, the fire is clearly stems from a catalyst from oil or fuel leakage perhaps from a bad fastener or bolt to secure the fastener. Once the catalyst get on the manifold or catalytic converter of 600-1200 degrees.....poofffff..... Fire. Over heating does not cause a fire as the most likely outcome is engine seizer. Broken piston rod is essentially a grenade but does not cause fires. (unless a catalyst is present which is again oil or fuel). Its pretty safe to say that the engine is fine unless the operator heard a pop or bang. And finally a object in the cylinder is a seizer or lock not fire, you won't get far.

But luckily, when my wife realized that she did not have enough eggs for a surprise this evening, I readily jumped into the red flaming (not literally ) beast and got them delivered in record time smiling ear to ear. She was so impressed with my eagerness and speed that I'll surely get more than one surprise. This car just keeps delivering. I hope it makes your wait easier
