As in the current MY for the GT3 RS is the only MY for the GT3 RS? So no 991.2 or even more MYs for the 991.1 GT3 RS?

Single M/Y for the 991.1 No info on the 991.2 or 992. ( by the time of a second M/y the 992 will be the basic Porsche model).

Has Porsche ever had a RS that ran only one year?

The unfortunate thing about the 991.1 is the delays caused by the GT3 engine issues.

There weren't RSs for all model years, skipped from '74 to '91.

996 and 997s other than the 4.0 ran for about 18ish months.

Note that PAG was rumoured to make $0 margin on the original 4.0, not sure what they're making on the 991.1 RS but this could be a limiter.

Just wondering since this seems to be the first RS without any graphics for a while, is anyone planning to add any, and if so which ones ??

As I recall, there were 'Euro Carreras' from 1974 to 1976 (w. accordion bumpers) with type 911/83 2.7-liter 210bhp engine with Bosch mechanical fuel injection (MFI), the same engine as fitted to the 1973 Carrera RS. But they were not referred to as a 'RS' model! The 1974 RS was a very limited production (54 built) with a type 911/75 3.0-liter 230bhp engine! The rest (55) were RSRs! I think the few 1975 3.0 built in 1975 were all done to RSR specs!

This is one area that I think Porsche really dropped the ball. Yes there are plenty of people that would remove them or order them with Graphics delete, but one thing that has always made the RS "cool" besides the added performance, is the bold styling with the graphics. I guarantee had the 997.1 RS not had the iconic graphics that reminded us of the original '73RS, it would not have sold as well. That was one of the things that also made it such a beautiful and classic and classy looking car. It was modern but paid perfect homage to the original and seemed to bridge the gap. With the 997.2RS graphics, they were bold and in your face. They screamed "I mean business, take me to the track!!!!" Yes they weren't for everyone and some people took them off. But to me, they were the perfect graphics to appeal to the era which was sort of a re-birth of the performance car. Yes, Honda Civic boyracer types did similar goofy stuff to their cars, which is offputting to many here. But, the RS was the real deal, race pedigree and performance that the boyracers dreamed of one day being able to afford. The 997.2 RS 4.0's graphics were perfect for the car as well. Modern a little more subtle, but still evident to anyone that happens to see it, that it's a special car that they're lucky to even just be catching a glimpse of in the flesh. The current RS is a gorgeous car in my eyes. But certainly lacks that something that makes me look at a picture of the car and say WOW that's special right there! Now me being a Porschephile, yes I know it's a special car and not just a Carrera with a big wing. But an RS should announce what it is so everyone knows it's special whether or not you even know what it is. Graphics have a way of doing that. In my opinion, that was also the one downfall of the GT2RS. Gorgeous car and the top performance street car Porsche had ever built up to that time, including the venerable CGT, albeit 8 years later. But it looked almost utilitarian and could easily fade into the white noise of a mall parking lot. The small GT2RS decals in the lower front corners of the doors were subtle, so those who knew what they were looking at would drool. But to the non-afficianado, it was just another cool car. I hope that people do add graphics to the 991RS. I think the ones that one of our Rennlister's here have made are the best and suit the car well. They're modern, with a stripe that shows touch of 997.2 RS 4.0 inspiration combined with the RS inspired designation of the 964 RS/RS America located just aft the rear wheels.

I will be adding some stripes on it, I'm not sure if I will go for something similar to the RS 4.0 or something inspired by the 991 RSR or GT3 R.

I didn't take the graphics off my '11 RS but I am glad this car doesn't have them. To each their own.

On a car like this I just think it would nice to have the option as per the last model. I'm sure Porsche could have came up with something suitable, even the Cayman GT4 has something on offer I think.

In my view, the front fender vents and big wing are enough of a differentiation to the other models.

The RS 4.0 graphics were plenty for me. On the edge of too much.
