That's a rational fear you have.
I was reading the latest issue of New Scientist and this interview was a bit unsettling to me. I won't delve into opinions on the scientific matters but I will say that it's just a change we're going to have to accept.
194 countries agreeing to abolish "stupid cars that use fossil fuels" is certainly going to put an end to an era of cars as we know them and perhaps even our culture of automotive enthusiasm.

So I guess the question I have for some of you is: Do you think that carmakers will get or seek an "exemption" in the upcoming regulations so that cars like a NA GT3RS can exist in the future?

Going even further off topic, I'll throw out waiting for M2. BMW half-@ssed the 1M and it was awesome despite (or because of?) it. With the M235i as a starting point the M2 should be a blast if you can wait that long. BMW has a history of making the little M cars drift mobiles- not the fastest things in the world, but definitely some of the most fun.
~270lb lighter than street version; same HP. Looks to be around $80k vs $240k for a Cup. Imagine what a cool spec class this would make?

I have to say we have a 2011 535I Msport, it is chipped, lowered and leased for 30 months now and it has been to the dealer once for free service, other than that gas and oil only.
It even lasted 5 laps at PBIR before stock everything brakes gave out.

1M = great car; hard to find; expensive. Everything I've read says M235i is better.

At least when it comes to the aero, I think the RS will probably have more power to overcome drag. Rumors say it's 4.0l, I would still bet that it is > 500hp to be higher than the 997 4.0.
The GT3 engine seems to be quite close to the limit with the high redline and so on. Therefore it basically "screams" more than 3.8liters...
Let's see in Goodwood then

Might be a 500 HP turbo in honor of Porsches 40 years of being turbocharged celebration. Seems appropriate if you ask me.

Turbo? Of course not.
I think they will celebrate the 40 years of turbo with a lovely Turbo S special edition. Maybe in Green with Pepita interior

so, how I interpret the CEO's statement...the GT3 owners will do some testing to make sure there are no more fires, then Pcars will release the flag ship RS...
