Sounds promising at least.

I was reading the latest issue of New Scientist and this interview was a bit unsettling to me. I won't delve into opinions on the scientific matters but I will say that it's just a change we're going to have to accept.

194 countries agreeing to abolish "stupid cars that use fossil fuels" is certainly going to put an end to an era of cars as we know them and perhaps even our culture of automotive enthusiasm.

EDIT: Interview is here - http://imgur.com/m24ZCkF
I won't derail this thread further by going into my views on 'climate change' but needless to say; I read the first few paraghraphs, skimmed through the rest and threw up a little bit in my mouth. Stomach hurts, ******-off now, the feeling that the conspiracy theorists will again be correct on the subject. Makes me almost suicidal...

So I guess the question I have for some of you is: Do you think that carmakers will get or seek an "exemption" in the upcoming regulations so that cars like a NA GT3RS can exist in the future?

Anyone at Porsche HQ reading this care to weigh in? Looks like we know what direction Matthias Müller wants to take the company: http://www.worldcarfans.com/11403217...confirmed-with

Guess I'll have to "downsize" my future car collection.

Nah. This is the one we're really waiting for: http://www.bmw-motorsport.com/en/cars/bmw-m235ir.html

~270lb lighter than street version; same HP. Looks to be around $80k vs $240k for a Cup. Imagine what a cool spec class this would make?

Encourage everyone to send an email to this guy and implore him to get them to the U.S. ASAP: M235i-Racing@bmw-motorsport.com

It even lasted 5 laps at PBIR before stock everything brakes gave out.
BMW brakes always a weak link. Getting better.

1M = great car; hard to find; expensive. Everything I've read says M235i is better.

Unfortunately it is an auto, as in ZF 8 speed, not even a DCT.

I still regret not getting in line for the 1M.

According to Top Gear the new 991 RS will be at Goodwood FOS this year. I posted a thread on the 997 GT2/3 forum.

Probably not as regretful as I am passing on a 4.0L.

I think they would rather say "it's a completely different engine than the GT3" so that it won't be linked to the issues and everybody is waiting for burning RS cars

At least when it comes to the aero, I think the RS will probably have more power to overcome drag. Rumors say it's 4.0l, I would still bet that it is > 500hp to be higher than the 997 4.0.
The GT3 engine seems to be quite close to the limit with the high redline and so on. Therefore it basically "screams" more than 3.8liters...

Let's see in Goodwood then

Might be a 500 HP turbo in honor of Porsches 40 years of being turbocharged celebration. Seems appropriate if you ask me.

400hp in a GT3 RS? This is not 2003 anymore

Turbo? Of course not.

I think they will celebrate the 40 years of turbo with a lovely Turbo S special edition. Maybe in Green with Pepita interior

Fixed.. Lol. I had it to where the new RS has less HP than my 997.2 RS. Fingers too big for my iPhone.

Lol, no. But at least you didn't have a 4.0 and then sell it like someone else...

Reality is finally catching up with marketing? Its funny how marketing @ PAG has always sold the GT3/RS as a street legal cup but the reality of the Motorsports catalog is that the cars share very little in common. Maybe slightly more than the base 911 but barely!

so, how I interpret the CEO's statement...the GT3 owners will do some testing to make sure there are no more fires, then Pcars will release the flag ship RS...
this is a real confidence builder for the '14 owners!
