4.0 n/a based on the production GT3 engine, not any race engine. Have heard this from several good sources around the world.

I suppose the problems with the GT3 could change that but that would surprise me. Lots of aerodynamic changes and weight saving. Probably lower top speed than regular GT3 due to huge downforce and related aerodynamics. No manual..final on that. definitely no turbo.

If we follow normal Porsche philosophy we would see two more 3RS variants..an RS.2 and some kind of runout model, but have no idea what they would be. Clearly, they will need to have something in reserve when the initial car is announced, so I wold expect HP not to be dramatically increased. They took a fair amount of criticism with the 997RS.1 being identically powered and having essentially identical performance to the base car, so they will certainly bring performance up a bit. Minimum would be 500bhp which also gets them past the 997 4.0.

The motor in the RS will be NA and 4.0L. It will be > 500bhp. The PDK will have a faster shifting algo and harder clutch packs than the GT3. It will have similar body work to the RSR with a dual air inlet on either side of the rear quarter panels as seen in testing but final shape will be different than the current turbo. The 991 platform will be by far, the biggest difference in performance from the factory between the standard GT3 & RS moniker since the model was introduced.

This makes sense to me - I am glad to hear rumors of 4.0L - I was very skeptical that any meaningful power improvement over the GT3 was possible without more displacement.

I been saying all along;
4.0
Wider crazy bodywork
21"
Orange

But I can see them ditch this engine and go TT.
No crazier than going all automatic.
