Of course RS will be delayed, another motor issue cause them pull back? No! absolutely it's a marketing issue.
4 months production delayed to GT3 in 2013 and 5~6 months? recall, stop sell and replacement in 2014, it made Porsche wasted almost one year on their road map.
It pushed one year number GT buyers stand on a same timeline,
if your dealer shows you four quotations next Monday:
1) 2014 GT3 w/engine replacement $150K delivery: June
2) 2014 GT3 w/o any fix/replacement $150K delivery: July
3) 2015 GT3 $150K delivery: August
4) 2015 GT3RS $200K (500hp, wider, lighter, bigger wing,..) delivery: September
Will you take which one?

I liked it. Seating position is better than 3 Series and the seats provide good support. Drove it on a wet day and you could break the rear lose at will. The one I drove had an automatic but they offer manual so it's all good. Waiting to drive an M3 before making any decisions.
One thing for sure after driving the street 235 is that the M235i Racing is going to be a hoot. Need to get everyone to send emails to BMW so they get their act in gear and make them available to US market.

Thanks :-)
Cayman I need to build myself because the GTS makes no sense, don't know yet if I fit in the Corvette and the GT3 and RS will be automatics look like.
The regular 911's and even maybe the RS will go Turbo, this is the tip of the Turbo iceberg:

Looks like you can choose, manual or Turbo. Maybe the 430HP or maybe even the 475HP BGB Daytona Special Cayman is really the last option.

Oh yeah. Plus lowered suspension and a bunch of other goodies availble from M Performance Catalog. And that's before the tuners get ahold of it.

Going even further off topic, I'll throw out waiting for M2. BMW half-@ssed the 1M and it was awesome despite (or because of?) it. With the M235i as a starting point the M2 should be a blast if you can wait that long. BMW has a history of making the little M cars drift mobiles- not the fastest things in the world, but definitely some of the most fun.

I have to say we have a 2011 535I Msport, it is chipped, lowered and leased for 30 months now and it has been to the dealer once for free service, other than that gas and oil only.
It even lasted 5 laps at PBIR before stock everything brakes gave out.

No, they changed the software to neuter it slightly less vs the 350 hp 991 that shares the identical engine. I do wonder if the E throttle actually goes full open on this one? And with 15 whole hp over the S, the chances that a GTS on the low end of the production tolerances actually makes less power than an S on the high end are somewhat reduced.
Not a car for us yet, I'm afraid. The GT group still needs to get their hands on it...

[QUOTE]You think the RS engine is going to be significantly different from the existing GT3 engine (i.e larger capacity)?/QUOTE]
Rumor is 4.0. I think a lot of the changes will be in weight reduction though. Waiting to see some definitive stuff, but pretty sure the basic architecture of the engine is a development of the GT3 mill, not something completely different. I am on the list for one.
Would like to do my usual thing…pick it up at the factory before the Nurburgring 24, run it in a bit, go to the 24 and then spend a few days at the Ring and Spa….here is my 997.2 with Chris Harris' car after the race.
