Consolidated 991RS thread

How many times have you seen this happen from a dealer? Also typically on "bonus" allocations in the above scenario for 918 owners, PAG can do a registration check to make sure the car was registered to the same person as was reported to Porsche when car was delivered. If the name does not match typically the dealership then is audited further and the purchase docs must be submitted to PAG and reviewed and if they deem the sale was not to the actual 918 owner Porsche can then take or charge back the dealer a future allocation of same model or if none are available possible a future limited production car, otherwise this would be a runaway train by dealers.

Yes in many cases they don't enforce on a day to day basis based on non limited vehicles, but my guess is that it will high enforcement on the bonus allocations for GT3/RS models because it's normally all the other dealers that will turn in a store that is cheating the system and it forces PAG to keep there eyes on it so they can't be accused of letting a dealer cheat the allocation system giving that store an unfair advantage.

A little of topic, but it will be interesting to follow the demand and price for 918 over the next 5 years. 918 cars made is a lot for a supercar. Some of these buyers will likely sell within the next few years. And market might be pretty slim considering Porsche have been struggling to sell all of them? What do you guys think?

Can you imagine the repair concerns on an out of warranty 918? Even if million dollar cars are in your price range, doesn't the idea of basically prototype blessing edge electronics and motors going bad just scream 6-figure repair bills? No one is immune to that.

^ most ppl dont drive 918, look at how many CGT has 50,000 miles.
maintenance wont be too bad.
if i had the money for a 918, i would track the sh*t out of it. and THAT would be hell to maintain. my cup car was $10,000 a weekend on a good weekend. on a bad one $20k

Porsche must be either extremely closed lips on Paris, or we're definitely looking at the RS not coming to US shores until Nov/Dec '15 (assuming same announcement & delivery schedule the 3 followed). Well, at least we know fellow German makers Audi (next gen R8, rumored) and Merc (AMG GT) will represent. Even the Italians with the 458M (rumored) will be on tap.

Talking about tires, it there a Nitto size yet?
PFC will have track pads, do we know if the just slide in the caliper or are they retardedly solid bridge like the rears on a 997? Stripped uprights make for good excuse to swap to CUP uprights or 5 lug.
Still nobody posted a comprehensive track upgrade list yet...

918 would not be a great track car. A minor shunt would have sending it back to the factory for a CF fix. 32,000 wheels and it's big and heavy. It's fast as he'll though.
