Yea, I'm trying to see if I can make it work, but it just doesn't make sense for the family. We'll see, job market is rough, maybe I'll get lucky and score a job in the next month.

How do you figure? He quoted a link where the 991.2 on offer is $265k.

You said you can get a 992 for “this much” referring to the 991 which has an asking price of 265k. Maybe you didn’t mean to say that.

That was me...I said you can get a 992 GT3 Touring for 265. There was a CPO one listed recently, PTS Albert Blue, manual, Buckets for $253 (that was a bit of on outlier compared to most CPO cars) but here are some 992 Touring BAT listings.
This one went for 260k : 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 Touring 6-Speed for sale on BaT Auctions - closed on August 14, 2023 (Lot #116,932) | Bring a Trailer
240k: 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 Touring for sale on BaT Auctions - sold for $240,000 on August 8, 2023 (Lot #116,266) | Bring a Trailer
247k: No Reserve: 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 Touring for sale on BaT Auctions - sold for $247,000 on August 1, 2023 (Lot #115,430) | Bring a Trailer

How many more examples do you want? 991.2 GT3 Tourings are going for 200-220 in the current market

Very sorry to hear of your job loss. I've been there this year myself and it sucks, but I came out the other end in a better place. There will be rough days for sure but perseverance will win out in the end. All the best.

I agree and was pointing out what you said in this post. I may have mixed up who said what. If i am correct the first one didn’t sell as it was RNM. The other 2 had relatively lower MSRP’s in the 190 range. As far as 991 Tourings you are probably right depending on mileage and options.

How about all the authors in this thread actually go buy some cars and drive - then post about your experience actually driving vs. your experience trying to buy a car or this and that.

This is a car, not a security or some other investment to be traded around - though it seems like GT cars have become commoditized as such.

Be prepared to lose, and be happy if you win (e.g. get even money / enjoy miles & smiles). In the odd event you make money, great - but don't count on it happening again or factor into your purchasing decision - if that is what underpins the transaction, you shouldn't be getting a GT car or any car.

^^^ This.

It's funny how some threads here make fun of Ferrari guys being obsessed with valuation, I've been an FChat member for 20 years too (been on RL since it was an email list under a different name), and RL is WAY more obsessed with values.

+1

The GT4RS facebook group is the same. A couple of days ago I posted there that "It’s time to get back to basics. Buy cars for the driving experience (not the profit or the specs/stitching as DeMuro says), and accept that there’s a cost to that enjoyment. The rest is a waste of time."

I just recently saw a 992 GT3 FS in Gentian Blue at $23X on the forum. Not $200k but pretty much the most ‘reasonable’ ad I’ve seen in a while
