Can someone explain to me what happens to the shill BAT bids that end up winning? Do those cars just end up not selling as presumably, the shill is a related party to the seller? In that case, the car that is in question would then be relisted by the original seller (whether on BAT or not)?

I generally refer to shill bids when it pertains to BaT, as bids placed that you know are not going to win the auction. I think most guys do them just to feel better about themselves knowing people are seeing them bid XX number for a car. I do not believe most shill bids actually affect the final sale price.

I struggle to see why anyone would pay over MSRP, but I realize there are many that do it.
Earlier this year I purchased a CPO'd, high sticker, fully PPF'd, PTS winged car for a bit under MSRP. It remains under factory warranty until Mid-December of this year, followed by CPO, then the Porsche VSC extended the warranty to 10 years past its in service date. This has been a dream car and spec of mine for years, I sincerely hope more enthusiasts get to ****** these great cars up in the future. Time to go drive it and make some memories, as these cars were intended for.
Speaking with several friends who have made the leap from the 991.2 to the 992 they all say the same thing. Too much tech, too darty, and too harsh for the road. Somehow it seems Porsche made their 992 GT3 the equivalent of a .2 RS in many ways when it comes to ride quality. Certainly this is all second hand regurgitation from others, but it does make you wonder what the sentiment will be in years to come.

When shill bids win, they find every avenue to welch on the deal. The one thing I absolutely hate about the auctions is the comments section. All the non buyers commenting is ridiculous and juvenile.

As far as shill bids, I think that an insider without genuine intention of winning will know the reserve and can help create interest and move the price up to just under the reserve without losing their bid hold if they end up high bidder.
A shill bidding beyond reserve would be a bit of a game. An unscrupulous seller might 'cover' the BaT if they end up holding the bag, or as suggested just have the shill buyer find a (refundable) reason to back out of the sale. I have no idea how often the later happens, but I bet shill bidding up to the reserve happens frequently...

That is insane. You need to ***** yourself out as a vehicle finder and dealmaker. I saw nothing close to that in almost a year of looking at all the 991.1 3RS, 991.2 GT3s. I guess you gotta know where to look!!

I doubt it even closes.
Glad to see the 992'a falling off a cliff. Those GT porkers are stretching value at MSRP tbh.
Also when I sold my 991.2 RS for 221k....I truly did not give a SHTT if it sold for 210 or 220 or 175 or 195! I was moving on from the car and i paid like 245k with tax on it. Sold for whatever the first real buyer was willing to pay and moved on.
Blows my mind there are these raging cheap skates that are trying to pay 200k for a car and nickel and dime 5k or 10k when they sell it. If you are that cheap, don't buy a 200k car maybe...

More power to those that actually use them as intended and enjoy driving them. In the meantime, we have to thank our C&C brethren for ensuring there is a steady supply of babied cars available.
