44 and have been an Sr Exec for a global IT firm for many years and recently went out on my own, not due to Covid but tired of the corporate BS and time to make my own decisions for the benefit of good clients. Best thing I ever did was starting my own firm as its exciting. Plan is to keep growing during these crazy times and spend every spare minute at the track on weekends, that is my primary motivator LOL

34 (35 in 2 weeks) here and I am a fashion photographer transitioning into construction sales. I just never seemed to break into the Fashion world like I wanted. I have been published in Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Elle, Vanity Fair but it still didn't translate into the 300k type advertising jobs I hoped for. Maybe I get back into it one day but not expecting it. Wife is a fashion designer and very good at her job so she is more of the bread winner in our family. Sales role I am taking is hopefully going to allow me to own a GT3T one day and that is my dream car. We also started a wedding photography business and are hoping that will also allow us to get the ball rolling and build it up into a full service company. Full service being, planning/design, photography, rentals and possibly even a venue at some point. Hopefully Covid doesn't scare people into never going out again.

47, been in the enterprise dev/IT game my entire career. Started my own consultancy 6 years ago because I was over the lack of purpose in the shop I worked for, and general apathy toward serving clients. Love my Team, and still passionate about my job. And, it funds the toys and travel.

I'd rather not share it publicly. I will say it's not related to the auto industry, but it's an industry that was a hobby before I made it my business.
I know a lot of people say that you shouldn't make your hobby your job, otherwise you will end up hating it. But in my case, that wasn't true. I still love the hobby and the business.

I guess they say that because the mechanics of running the business back end in addition to the front end (hobby) can become burdensome?

40, structured products portfolio manager at a large institutional asset manager....only corporate job i could imagine liking...side-hustle investment as owner/operator of rental homes and small office buildings...would love for it to be my main hustle...
no inheritance, but undergrad degree at state school paid for by my parents (which I'm far more appreciative of now, maybe than I was then)

31, Account Executive at a well known software company in the Bay Area. Professional Sales never gets the love it should, it's an incredibly rewarding profession that also provides one of the best $/hr out there. Will likely do something entrepreneurial down the road but time will tell.

50..... married 29 years and no kids. I own a Design/Build Remodeling business that specializes in Kitchens & Bathrooms. From conception to completion, we do every aspect of the project... NO SUB-CONTRACTORS! I own 25,000 square feet of manufacturing where we build our line of cabinetry & stone facility. 150 employees and 80 trucks on the road. 10 designers and 2 retail showrooms in the greater Sacramento area.
I work a lot and love every minute of it. My passion is people, processes, products, Porsche's and team building. I spend much of my time coaching and advising my Executive Teams. It is a wildly rewarding job for me.

A lot of very accomplished people here.....
Just a 8-5 Engineer in Oil and Gas, which has been very turbulent the past 6 years.
And will admit to receiving a small inheritance (low 5 figure).
Due to the state of my industry and my age, I won’t be in the fun car market probably ever again, will live with what I have.

67, pharmacist, biologist by training. Worked in medical software as analyst since ‘08. Cut back last year to 3 days a week. Best thing I’ve ever done! Most of my work is problem solving. Keeps the brain exercised.
May never be able to own a GT3 (really shouldn’t say that). Maybe probably won’t ever own GT3, but, but my 911 rides and sounds close to one and it’s fun!
Cheers,

60, I work in cyber security at a well known Silicon Valley tech company. Have been working in the Bay Area tech industry at various companies for 30+ years. I enjoy my job as I like challenging myself and problem solving.

37, I work in tech (SF Bay Area), serve part-time as a licensed real estate agent, teach computer science as an adjunct professor, and sell derivatives (options primarily). When I'm not doing any of that, I'm typically flying an airplane somewhere to build my hours towards a CFI.
