Entrepreneur.
Born in lower middle class, started working as window washer at the age of 14, pushed my self through school and graduated with degree in finance (BS). Due to lack of money, work, car lover, etc. it took me 6 years to have my bachelor. But hey, I have learn one thing: never give up and keep eyes on your goal.
Founded my own company at the age of 26 (now 33). I knew I will never work for anyone throughout my life. And wanted to create something which is recession proof.
I started my company with 1 employee and used to work 12-15 hours per day. That was my schedule for 2 years.
As of now: its been 7+ years, have 50+ employees and I work only 2-5 hours a day.
Lesson learned throughout my entrepreneurship: never give up, do not listen to any sort of negativity from anyone, focus, do not be confused, keep your head down, finish and reach your goals, have trust in God, trust yourself and your capability. I believe I am not last person to achieve anything but even I am rewarded. One day once I am done, all will be donated and given away. I had my time and after me its someone else time.
Life is too short to complain

How are there not more military chiming in?
29, active duty military pilot, with intent of going to the airlines or fly for the state department in dark places. Moved out at 15, and have been on my own since.
Go Navy, Beat Army

Former military here. I grew up an Army brat, and then paid for school with an Air Force ROTC scholarship. Paid that back with 5 years active duty. I went to grad school for a white collar professional job right out of the Air Force. Later I joined the world's largest firm in my area. I worked like a dog making other people rich. I then started my own firm and did well. I essentially retired in my late 40's. I'm early 50's now and looking for direction in life. There is only so much time you can spend managing your own assets before you get bored.

Sadly, yes. I run money. Rather empty and thankless job, but pays well. Totally burnt out. For those of you who love what you do, and are successful at it, count your blessings.

57 years old. Grew up in a small town of 900 in rural MN. Started working at 11 years old in my dads general sporting goods store. Then 20 more years in Sporting goods retail. Then started my own independent rep group selling products in the motorcycle industry. My old man got me into sports cars at an early age. All kinds. Owned 4 Porsche’s and paid cash for all of them. Plenty real.

Gross. The last 2 years were a mistake. At least I can say I played when Navy was undefeated against army in most sports.
Biggest mistake I made in life thus far was not pushing harder to appeal my eyesight waiver for the Air Force Academy. As soon as my current contract is up, looking to go to the ANG and fly C-17s(maybe F-16s though we will see), and fly for the airlines concurrently. Maxing out my Roth IRA and TSP yearly, and trying to get to around 22 years Active/Guard so I can semi retire around 50 and just play as a flight instructor at my local airfield as gas money.
