I have to offer my unsolicited thoughts about C.J.
I was in Fresno about four months ago for my son’s cross country race. My wife grew up several blocks from Porsche Fresno. We went by my wife’s old house and then stopped in to see the cars on the second floor of C.J.’s building. To my surprise, C.J. was there. It was before 9 a.m. on a Saturday. He was standing there in a blazer, slacks, and dress shirt (but no tie) and having an animated conversation with a man and his son. We waited close by to introduce ourselves, but we didn’t want to interrupt. I was amazed by two things. First, that a dealer principal would be at his store so early on a weekend; and second, that he was almost child-like in his enthusiasm for Porsches. We didn’t hear all his conversation (he was talking about a 997 4.0), but he is clearly an enthusiast. We ultimately left because we were running late for the race. My impression was that C.J. is a good guy. My wife and daughter thought he was good looking too (but they also loved the Miami 718 parked in front of the building, so there’s that).
I trust C.J. He’s well known and well liked. He’s a family man, a sports guy, a car enthusiast, and a businessman. Throw in some apple pie and that’s what America is all about. I will make a point of buying my next Porsche from him.
Whale. I don’t know you. You seem educated and articulate. You may even have a point or two. But I don’t know you. All I really know is that you seem to enjoying sniping at C.J. from the cover of the internet. You should, more accurately, call yourself Chicago Sniper.

I trust CJ quite a bit. He's also a good friend of mine. He's always been up front and super enthusiastic. Chicago Whale can say what he wants... that's fine. It's the internet. Won't change my opinion of CJ and the good person he is.

Pretty sure that's like $35k over with sofa seats and no CCB.
But does anyone know is the painted interior the same material as the silver standard dashboard trims?

I talked with CJ about two years ago about an RS and last year about a Clubsport. He wouldn't make any money on me, but was completely helpful and honest pointing me in the right direction. I would not hesitate one bit to buy a car from him. He is what we should be proud of in being an honest man who has done well and pays it forward. He makes his money honestly and is very fair and has helped me even when he had reason to. I look forward to buying a car from him someday. For now, my GT3 will be coming from Porsche of Beaverton (Great people) and my GT2RS from a dealer in the Midwest. Next one will come from Fresno.....

CJ seems to be the favorite dealer and more power to him.
I'm curious two years would have been sufficient to get on the list and get a RS. I realize CJ operates a smaller dealership compared to the bigger ones out there. Were you late to the party that you have to get your GT cars from other dealers? My experience with my friends buying from out of state usually ends up paying ADM.

I haven't called to verify MSRP (cuz I'm not in the market for one); but, the $4,500 discount, normally associated with cars they want to move quickly, is in red, bottom right, of their ad under "Offers": https://www.porschedowntownla.com/new/Porsche/2018-Porsche-911--011fc8e40a0e0a172fe35b29226ba3f3.htm

I've got to sell my 911 inventory about 5x before I get that many cars to give out
I estimate that 2,100 GT3 will hit usa.
Therefore 700 GT2's and 1400 RS. Porsche likes symmetry but at this stage a year ago we were told as dealers to estimate 2k-2.2k GT3's. Have heard zero about RS.
I was told they won't build more than 10-15% Of demanded GT2RS. So, calculate that however you like.

My list for the new RS was 20 deep a year ago...

Thank you for the quick feedback CJ. I knew several months back you posted your list was 20 plus on a RS and that you had stopped accepting/entertaining buyers. That's what I thought Post#997 was simply late to the party.
Just like what you've mentioned before, prospective buyers need to act really fast if they want to be assured of an allocation to an honest dealer like you. Thinking about it whether to get on the list or otherwise is also a process being thought of by others. Waffling around usually gets one late to the party.
