What did you do with your 987 today?

Looks beautiful! I love the color. I had several MK4's as well.. I've owned one of every Golf/GTI generation up until the newest MK8. They make for a great all-around fun car. We have a 2019 Tiguan now which is more or less a lifted Golf haha
I like that the 987s have gotten to a point where many are tinkering and fixing them at home. I'm not about to be paying $250 an hour or whatever the local dealership is charging! I've found the cars to be very straight forward to work on.

In the 90s, the Corado VR6 was one of the cars that I - and many others - lusted over.
I can't tell you the amount of work I did on my car. Within 2-3 years, I replaced or upgraded virtually every part on it.
Armed with my MK2 Bentley, it was how I learned to work on cars.

Any chance you applied the Siless to the wheel wells and have some thoughts to share? Weather is finally warming up and took my new to me '10 CS out the other day and was a bit surprised by the road noise coming in to the cabin. I'm all for adding more exhaust and induction noise, but was quite shocked by the unwanted noises. Would definitely do this if it makes any improvement. Thanks
The biggest change, with the greatest amount of noise reduction in my Boxster was lining the inside of the doors. I removed the door cards and lined both the card itself and the door itself. I think I put pictures back up the thread a little. I also bought some foam things that allowed me to stuff a 2" thick foam disc behind the speakers in the lower door. I then used the foam ring that came with those plugs to better seal the speaker grill in the door card to the inner panel of the door so that only sounds from the speakers come out through the grill. It was surprising to me how much noise is transmitted through the doors. Once I lined those, it was a dramatic enough difference that my wife commented on it almost immediately.
Since it's a Boxster, I started with putting liner over the access panels, as well. That reduced the engine noise some, which was fine, because with less noise in the cabin, I can still hear the terrific sounds coming out of the engine bay.
Sorry for a kind of late response on this, but I hope it's helpful.
I think I paid like $50 for the material and still have about a third of a roll or so. FWIW, as prep, I bought a bunch of the little plastic gizmos that hold the door card to the door itself. I think I got them on Amazon for like $10 for 5 or something. They were cheap and I actually had to use a couple of them, so that was handy.

Nothing particularly exciting, but gotta start somewhere. Installed the OEM trunk and frunk protective liners, a missing wiper arm cap, and replaced a cracked up rear wheel arch guard-a-ma-bob. This thing here...
Next up is paint correction and ceramic coating, and replacement of that yellowed and cracked rear wheel arch ppf. Just can't decide if I stick with clear or go black instead. Need to search out meteor gray Caymans and see what looks good.

Found that the illumination line to the lock lock button mid dash is a perfect place to pick up a dimmer signal for your aftermarket radio.
