RGS 987.2 radiator grilles
Fyi—. As to your zip ties, you can slightly “separate” the outside of your “Strakes” from the inner frame. The inner frame has several convenient “slots” that you can run the zip ties through, cinch tight, and press the strake halves back together—completely invisible then.

New Porsche 987.2 owner and new to the forum. I spent quite a few hours searching and subsequently using the information obtained here to make my purchase. I found many of you have painstakingly documented a plethora of tips and detailed information relating to almost every aspect of the Porsche.
Let me say... You all rock!
I replaced rear rotors and pads this weekend and then I detailed all 4 wheel wells (I have never done this on any car I have ever owned) washed and waxed the exterior.

Installed GT3 LCAs and brake ducts on my Cayman. The work was pretty straight forward but setting the toe with string took a lot trial and error. Hoping to get out this afternoon for a test drive.

Advanced
Finally got out for a nice long leg-stretching drive. The weather wasn't perfect, but at least it wasn't snowing. The mostly empty rural roads were great!

Replaced my 'boombox' grey dash trim strip with the polished silver type... now matches the door pulls. Adds a bit more class to the interior. Next will do the same to the trim around the shifter. While I was at it, I lubed the cupholder plastic mechanism that allows you to open and close the slot... as mine was intermittently working.

Finished my water pump/thermostat replacement project. Wow burping the system was a mess. Next time I will just drain the whole system and vacuum fill. The partial drain and burp was...messy... and time consuming.
Test drive was fantastic part way up Mount Lemmon however!
Started on my next project: sebro slotted rotors and new textar pads. Already encountered a hiccup: one of the new rear pads had the shim plate fall off during shipping...

Edit: nevermind, figured it out. That's the slick 991 adaptation done by EMC^2!

Racer
Had these beauties built by my race shop. So much better than the ones currently available!!
Done with a CNCmachine and riveted into the existing frames.

OT question, but can you give me info on those board (wake/surf?) wall hangers? I've been looking for something similar but to use for cross bars and a Thule rooftop box. Can send me a private message. Thanks, Damien.

Verified Working Tail
I've had the car 10 months but have never seen the tail go up/down at speed. Installed a Go Pro with a suction cup on the back window. My wife and I moved 'Social Distancing' to the car and made a quick run down US 1. Monitoring the Go Pro with an iPhone, I can now say the tail goes up at indicated 78 mph and down at 49 mph.
