Baselined my CR this weekend since I did not receive any previous records with the car. Replaced wipers, (f)trunk struts, cabin and engine filter, AOS and those brittle vent lines, plugs/coils. Changing out diff/clutch fluid and PS fluid today. I also have a water pump, thermostat, belt, and fluid, but that will wait for another weekend. I have not driven this car 5 months and of course it snowed this morning so what's another week? At least a garage gives me the opportunity to tinker and look at it...

The black plastic vent tube at the front of the engine was a huge PITA (right hand side of this photo). Took me hours to release all the clips (ending up just braking them off), snake the new tube in, realize I didn't snake it through correctly, re-do and finally attached the four connectors. My hands took a serious beating.

Nice work! Are the vent lines really that brittle? Never heard of anyone having an issue... how many miles does yours have?

It seems pretty common for them to crack and leak or weep oil eventually since they are plastic flexible tubing and engine heat takes its toll. I would guess a lot of people doing this job only replace the top vent that goes over the the intake and connects to the AOS which is very easy to replace. The one in the photo is the second vent line a lot of people leave alone since it is more of a chore. Mine was weeping anyways which is why I had a spare. It is a bear to reach the connectors to release the hose, so I ended up just braking them off lol. I found out today that LN sells a special tool to release them.

My car as 48k miles.

Now that looks like a lot of fun!! How did the car perform?? Looks like you had some decent speed through the corners

The car is great! As a relatively unskilled driver, I find it much easier to push than my previous 996. Now I just need to learn how to pick the right lines through the cones…

I took the 987.2S for alignment, after I’d replaced the coffin arms and tuning forks on the front, as well as some fresh tyres

Installed these on the high beams. Not 200% brighter, more like 50% but still a noticeable improvement.

Of course, brightness will be 200% brighter than "standard" bulbs... is that what you had before?

I'm more curious to know what sort of life you will get from these. Spec says 250 hours (versus 1000 for a long-life H7). I often hear these higher-output bulbs die within a year or so, so do let us know when you replace them!

I hope you went with the GT3 version of the coffin arms aka "lower control arms". Seems most people in the UK replace these all the time and no one seems to know about using the GT3 version for much more adjustability. Especially if you're paying someone to replace them, well worth it over the standard arms.

That paint looks phenomenal BTW

Tightened the tension straps on the convertible top. The supervisor was keeping a close eye on the progress…
