due to temporary health issues (i usually do this kind of work myself) i'm taking my 2007 2.7L cayman to my "go to" guy for porsche service for an oil/filter change. it's been about 7000 easy miles. hasn't been a year since the last one, but took a 6000 mile round trip from california to ohio last summer...
WASHED IT!!!!! ...such act being the FIRST time in about 10 years I've done so.. This is also the 1st car I've had since 2012 that I can reach over.. Did not wash the insides of the wheels*; at age 78, I have only so much energy.

* but I have new wheels and tires coming.
Love that color... nice work!
Regarding the wheels... it's all about having the proper tools. Get yourself a Speed Master wheel brush. It'll clean the barrel of the wheel, side of wheel spokes, and even the brake caliper.

This... those wheels are pretty, I have them in silver. They suck to clean. I can wash the entire car in less time than it takes to clean the wheels. That said, I like them enough to keep them and suffer. They look that good.
Me, I drove with the top down in February in Chicago area, then washed the car in the driveway in shorts and flip-flops. I feel better. :-)
Got my Carnewal 200 cell manifolds installed on my '09 Boxster base to compliment Gert's GT rear section that was previously installed (nice, but a little too subtle by itself). Had the OEM SSK installed a few weeks ago and put 4 ozs. of tungsten putty into the voids of the shift ****. Before that, I got a Softronics tune and a Sprint Booster for a lazy throttle. I think I'm done (at least for a little while).

How do you like the sound with 200 cell cats? I have Carnewal GT mufflers on my 987.2, but would like to have more sound most of the time (except cold starts).

It sounds much better, at least to me. I emailed Gert this morning to ask about returning my cores and he reminded me it takes a 100 miles or so to fully break-in. It's not obnoxious and is pretty much quiet when just tooling around but definitely has more bark when you get on it. Cold starts are somewhat louder, but again, not obnoxious, and it quietens down pretty quickly. I forgot to add I put a Soul tip on it as well, but I'm not sure how much if any it impacts the sound. Long story short, I should have done my homework a little better and just ordered the headers to begin with.
Just took delivery of a 2005 Boxster on Sunday. Took "Ole' tapey", the original key held together with scotch tape, and refurbished it to like-new and resealed it with a thin layer of silicone.
First wash + polished the parking light assemblies + made short list of "reverse the past sins" parts to be replaced.
Changed the cabin filter.
Ordered maintenance parts (oil filter, air filter, etc.)
