^^^^ all those pictures on that website,... and yet they didn't include any of the underside pics on their website (that were shown in the BaT auction).
The delta between what dealers are asking for virtually any car and the actual prices sold is incredible. I don't know how they can ask what they do when cars aren't selling anywhere near their ask.
Starting the auction off with TurboKraft in the first sentence was a mistake IMHO. I like Chris and the work he has done for me is great but the real money for these cars is not with a modified car. The first sentence turned off a lot of potential buyers. All of the points that Anthony mentioned were right on and most were obvious to even a novice buyer. Some of the problems with the auction could have been done better but in the end the car is a little like a house of mirrors~~~~~~kind of hard to tell the real story. Most times the story is more important to selling a car than the car itself.
Good points, @cobalt I too, worried about BaT, but started the listing for mine last fall and paid the fee so am rolling with it. I will say on the backend, BaT has been very helpful and kind to work with (aside from the abrupt scheduling, and the auction ending mid-day on a Monday). Either way, with my 964 active on BaT as we speak, I am trying to over communicate and disclose everything, even if it is annoying to some. Fingers crossed!
Everyone has valid points. I am no longer allowed to post without my posts being screened and censored first. Even my posts that do nothing but praise are usually censored and not posted. I made the mistake of asking some hard but accurate questions regarding a few of the unscrupulous sellers making grossly false claims about the car they were selling and how the factory did things. Nothing that should put me on the banned list. Yet I see others be disrespectful to the seller making inaccurate statements and doing more damage to the sale than I ever came close to. Yet they are still allowed to post. I think I was becoming too credible. The issue isn't with the small private seller but the volume sellers and their paid team of rah rah's that praise every word they write especially the false claims. They sell a lot of cars so most believe they are credible and that is the farthest thing from the truth in many cases. I have looked over far too many Porsche's sold by a select few on BaT that were so far from honest it was criminal. Literally. Surprisingly they continue to get away with it.
@dmaddox You have to look at each car on a car by car basis. These are far too old and have too much history to say what they are worth without diving into the facts. IMO it looks like you are doing as much as you can to promote a car that you put a lot of passion into and I think it shows. I see you are going out of the way to get quick and updated compression test although it isn't needed in 500 miles. The people today like as much info as possible and as many detailed photos as they can look at. I think too many have gotten burned and it makes it tougher but occasionally an honest car like yours comes along. The buyers are learning. I think you should do well. I wish you the best on your sale and hope the next project receives as much passion as this one. Hope you stick around.
Midnight Blue/Classic Grey 3.6 for sale. Shows 38k miles and has polished Speedlines. Asking $486k. Merit Partners sold this car in 2019 with 36k miles for $255k. Owner since then added some sort of aftermarket exhaust and Porsche classic radio.

Nice looking example but the exhaust has to go. I hope they kept the original. Midnight is a great but very common color. Although classic gray and midnight isn't as common. Price seems reasonable for todays market. Other than the wheels not a heavily optioned car.
The PTS Fly Yellow 3.3 that Isringhausen had is now up on BaT at no reserve. The car was there for quite some time priced at a high of $530k and as low as $470k.

I posted on the PTS thread. Lots of ?? with this one. So much has been replaced and redone on such a low mile example? Always has me questioning why the need for lipstick at 12k miles. Also a lot of incorrect hardware, seals and stickers.
Japanese-market Cobalt Blue/black 3.6 going up auction with Gooding at Pebble Beach. Shows 39k km (24k miles). This 1 of 2 cobalt/black 3.6’s that is known to exist (the other belongs to @cobalt which is the only US delivered car).

Just looked it over. Looks cleaner than I recall but I trust the seller. Similar build. I don't have a leather dash but have supple leather which I for one prefer. I also have the factory Carbon Fiber dash. A few add on mods all of which I have the original parts for. Condition is nearly the same but I have 39k miles vs km. I also have the tech art front fogs which I can revert back if needed.
In some ways I hope they see their est. In others I liked it more when it was a depreciating asset vs appreciating.
IMO the best color combo on a 3.6T. But I am biased. I always knew it was special being just one of 2 in the world.
First of all, My 965 is not a GEM, had a rough life and can be ripped apart. Not that I'm ripping this one apart.
I think it's a cool car. But this shows what a USA buyer of the Japanese cars can go through. Still a long road ahead to work everything out.
Auction is at $212,000 with a couple days left.......
I noticed these look like a sport seat conversion. These conversions are popular now. Not sure if the uppers are sport seats?
Looks like a complete Body respray with chip guard on the inner aprons. The Auction shows a receipt where the insurance company paid for the $30,000 paint job.. ?
Shock towers show a long lived Track day career.
Interesting adjustable boost in the engine bay.
Crusty old rotors. Why not replace.
Interesting Wastegate relocation. No Wastegate CAT. So a short pipe is used with large 4" tips. Probably sounds Good.
38k miles, Same miles as my car. My seats were brand new looking. Mine was somewhat abused like this one with Track day use.
Super rare cool color so this grabbed my attention.
