Absolutely agree, for a road/track car it's all about reward and involvement. Speed/power in itself is a very short hit. We become accustomed to it very quickly. and it's not particularly rewarding by comparison.

I'd be interested to see what diff option you chose along with the lock and preload settings. Also what geo settings you finally run.

For the gentlemen who was concerned about the bump steer issues with the stock uprights. This can be mitigated by running a stiff well controlled Spring damper unit and moving the brake bias forward by fitting big red front calipers with 964 turbo discs. The trick is to load the nose of the car under braking and hold it down with a trail into the apex. It will counter any under steer to apex and reduce front axle travel and therefore minimise bump steer effect. It works well in terms of track pace and is fine on the road. In an ideal world the 993RS/Evo setup is preferable but for those keen to keep their 964's as stock as possible it's a fantastic option.

I find yours A really interesting project I look forward to watching it unfold.

Good luck!

Cool Spyerx. You'll sort it out! I just wanted to give you a heads up. I've done a lot of work on my car so I thought I'd share my learnings.

Would this type of bracing be effective after removing the spare tire?

This setup is derived from the bracing which was used on the 935's. It was more to support the bodywork than to provide chassis rigidity. Anything beyond the suspension pickup points adds little to the structure. Also in the event of a crash it transmits the forces directly into the front suspension pickup points directly. The spare tire is designed to absorbe energy, the braces transmit the energy.
Race car vs street car.

But it looks cool.

Rear end almost done. Should be wrapped up tomorrow hopefully no hiccups and then align and setup Friday.

Ignore my nasty OEM exhaust, that is coming off in next step.

So this is the initial work the Joey @ e-motion engineering is doing on the car. I think most will find it's pretty complete. There are probably things I've missed here... but hopefully pics tell more of the story.

This part of the build is getting close to being done, should be done Friday.

Next phase car goes to BBI Autosport where the interior will be stripped, car goes on a serious diet, a back cage will be welded in, seats installed, new light carpet kit, lots of rennline parts installed, light flywheel and new clutch, motor mounts, trans mount, wing, installation of a few body aero bits, exhaust/headers, and probably a couple dozen other things I'm forgetting.

Then car goes for a paint correction and under carriage detail. And then I drive the crap out of it for a while.

A couple points:
--rear brake heat shields have been trimmed, lightened up
--front heat shields need to be modified, as they are they interfere with the brake kit - need to dig into this one a bit more - should be able to modify to fit.
--The inner tie rods we modified, there is a thick washer that is spot welded to the shaft and the 'rubber housing' to essentially create the RS type inner tie rod. I will probably replace this with the ERP part once it is available.
--trimmed the shock mount area just a tick to allow for max camber adjustment (when needed!)
--Getting the KW to work right with the ERP uppers wasn't out of the box
--The wheels are very tight on the brake calipers, just about same as on my RS, FLUSH!
--Wheel studs and nuts are PERFECT length!:
MSI Bullet nose long wheel studs - 52mm 10.0009
MSI Yellow nascar lug nut

Holy awesomeness!

On track, I think you'll want the RS wing and a good splitter. This to match high speed cornering with the low speed cornering ability!

Agreed. I have the RS front splitters that I will start with. These are the ones from cultwerks that are copies for the RS factory splitters. They are not super aggressive.

I will be putting an RS 3.8 wing on the back for some flair :-) I kind of like the simple look but going to give this a shot.

Yeah, car should be driving tomorrow with all this chassis work done but a LOT of work to do as the project continues.
I will drive it for a couple weeks before I start the next part of this phase.
My GT3RS is a lot of fun, my goal is to make this a sort of older cousin to the way it drives and behaves on street and track.
I'll probably start to alternate a bit for track duty :-)

Go all in or not at all!

P.S. I see a peek of a very famous 964 rally car in the background hanging out in the shop! :-)
