Hi, now I haven't done this job yet beacuse I don't think it's the culprit here, maybe on the left side but I don't think so. I will do it but there's no rush. I think the easiest way to do it on the left hand side is to remove the cat and then the heatshild and to it from beneath instead of pulling the distributor. I have the kit down in the garage and they can only fit in one way. You'll have the part numbers in the old thread if you can find it. I got an another bag for the gaskets from the workshop so there are no stickers with the part numbers on it.

Did you replace you tensioner cover gaskets yet? I'd like to have some more information before I replace mine. I need to do the left one. The distributor looks like it is in the way, but I can remove it if I have to. I'm curious about the exact part numbers and the amounts needed. Also does the cover just come off easily when you unbolt it? Then you put in the new orange gasket and I guess the black ones fit on the other part. Is it easy to change the black ones?

    Hi, good question!

If you delete the rear fan in the engine bay you need to trick the climate control (CCU) so it still thinks the fan is there. If you don't it detects that something is wrong and shuts down the front fans to. And it stays in this mode until you reset the error codes with the Porsche "hammer" tool or the scantool software that some rennlist guys has developed.

The reason for deleting the fan is to save weight. This is something that was done in the cup cars and later in the 993 RS. You replace the fan with a simple pipe if you still want heat, if you don't need heat you can delete this to.

So all this work and talk about resistors is just about finding a way to trick the computer :-)

I hope this was a clear answer!

Thoams, what does that rear fan bypass do? I have no clue.
