Was it difficult to remove the front bumperettes and install the euro clear between the fog and turn signal? thanks.

The center just pops out to reveal the bolts (could me nuts) that hold it. It's a snap to replace. May have to remove one or both of the lights to get it out. Can't remember it's been a long time since I've remove mine. Either way, even replacing all the signal lights are really easy.

Bumperette delete is very easy once you've done it once....the first time is a little odd though...

MikeP gave me his targa today to use while I am doing my car. This is the targa I keep telling people is for sale. So I get to fix stuff on the targa, while I'm doing Darren's interior and my suspension madness...what exactly did I sign up for here????

So I picked up the car, and went home and rebuilt the pedal box, bled the clutch slave and fixed a seat switch. t this rate, I'll still not get to my car until September...but the targa gets better everyday...

So here's what I know about Targas so far...I love them. Never owned one, always wanted on, and then today it was 71 degrees and sunny, and backroads in early spring in a C2 Targa...fantastic. If it were a C4 targa I would have bought it already. I have a thing for C4 if you haven't noticed.

So a lot has been going on...

First things first. We lost Joe (hopefully temporary) and gained another Mike (hopefully long term)...

Enso's car that became joes is now mikes. Either way it was coming in for suspension madness...so 6 x 1 = 1/2 x 12 or something of that nature...

Cool news is, the Amazon Green sexy beast is in my driveway. Love the color.

Next...typical shot in front of my house. A guy drove by stunned and said calmly out the window, as he passed four 964 and saw another in the garage..."whoa this looks like a cool place to hang out"...made me chuckle, cuz today was a scary terrifying day at dbfd. Cutting a 43k mile car. Not pretty. But it worked in the end...

More to come on that, but first a couple pics...

And now for something you'll really love...

Pop out rear windows. Not an easy job and a little funky. And if anyone has any experience modifying a 964 to accept the windows and hardware, please chime in with your experience. We searched high and low for info. Nothing found on the 964. Only the older cars. So we/I improvised and started ripping into things today. Much thanks to Darren for his patience and for letting me cut his car. And to Dave for helping work out the details. Without them today, I wouldn't have even started.

Basically in the above, you remove your quarter windows and cut out all the glues. We are lucky cuz the headliner is out already. So we can see the holes that are in the c pillar for the hinges. Then you cut off the faring at the front of the b pillar. This was supposed to expose the slots that Porsche apparently left open for adding these windows. This is untrue for the 964. Maybe true for the SC...but no go for us. Cut the faring off. Basically you grind carefully through the spot welds. Off it comes. Then measure extremely carfully. And cut a slot for the hinge between the b pillar and the inner wall of the car. Tap the b pillar holes for m5 bolts. Fit the hinges. Not easy, but can be done.

Then m5 Jack nuts in the c pillars. I had to drill the holes out to approx m8 size to get the jack nuts in there. And then I slathered the Jack but with jb weld to give it some grip so it won't likely spin. And then attach the hinge to put all the nuts in place and you are set. Pop out windows.

Next will be pinch welt, and the lower window metal trim and then refinishing the windows and hinges and and and. This is not an inexpensive job to do right. And not easy. But if you take your time, anyone can do it.

More details will follow. I'll try to get better pics on the other side.

Nice! Very impressed with the dbfd attitude!

We need Rennlist to add the dbfd symbols as an emoji.

HalV - Love that attitude. Do you have a dbfd shirt? I'm thinking of buying some for the Sunset Porsche parts boys.

Wow, that looks great and who needs a cabriolet lol. The trim will be painted to match I presume? Can you show the hinge areas or did I miss them on my cell phone?

Trim will be painted to match. We are actually sourcing better trim as well.

I'll get more pics on the other side as I go...
