Color plays a pretty big role in the final sale price too. There have been some rare shades that have gone pretty high, well above this one and with more miles too.

What is so desirable about an ultra low mile, early model year, US market, sunroof, plain jane on D90s, totally stock, in a super common color, C2?
From a real life, real world perspective where cars get driven, driven hard, and enjoyed, and not this trend-as-of-late 'purchased to get kept in storage as a custodian' and speculated on as an investment and/or some sort of store-of-value diversification of assets strategy.
The best 964s are modded, hot rodded, personalized. And can be enjoyed guilt free. Paying a premium for a time capsule car disincentivizes the owner from doing all that cool stuff with their 964.
I could understand if it was a real RoW RS, since that's a factory hot rod*. Maybe even an RSA, even if it's only a glorified C2. But not some tall, soft, on tiny wheels C2 whose best feature is that no one drove it for 30yrs. That's the starting point for a great 964, but once you tack on the time capsule premium, it's a car that's not noteworthy except for its odometer and its next owner's cost basis.
*and the seller of last big ticket, time capsule, RS sold on BAT basically said he would not want to be in that position again, where the car is so virgin that the owner is nothing more than a custodian, hence why it was listed for sale.

I do have a removable steering wheel, but even then, I wouldn't leave it anywhere for a long period of time unless I've got eyes on it, or others at a car show did. Parked next to a Singer maybe ... as mine would go 2nd!
Maybe I'm too paranoid. I wouldn't want to test my agreed value policy.

Most enthusiasts would agree, but the big money cars are always low mile custodian cars, it is what it is. If I had the money, Id buy up for a super low mile car just to drive it as new, if money were no object. Basically what Seinfeld does.

IMO that car brought what it was worth. I would question actual milage. Top side looks like 12k with some paint work but bottom looks more like 25k+ and honestly it is a plain Jane 964. The cars that bring the huge $$ are usually in a unique color all original paint or have a unique option list. The low mile Wimbledon Green 94 Nathan sold not long ago was lightyears ahead of this car for overall condition and desirability.

People get so rustled over low mileage time capsules but most people want to enjoy the car as Porsche intended, not drive someone else's modded interpretation of what it should be. It's why condition & mileage is king and always will be.

I’m hoping to get some opinions or maybe someone knows this car. It started off as a C4 Cabriolet and has been modified into a tribute car. I have a friend who has been trying to get a 964 and came across this. I’m giving him direction but figured the real experts are here. I was a little shocked when he said they wanted $190K for it. That seems excessive for a modded C4 Cab but I don’t know if there is a lot of money into this build. It’s a dealer out of FL called K2 Motorcars. Here is the link.

Any advice, opinions or if someone knows the car...I’d love to give my friend some helpful information.
Thanks.
