What is the difference between US cars and RoW cars that makes them so superior? Lack of sunroof? Factory H4 headlights? Lower factory ride height from the tired 25yo RoW shocks and springs?

So after listing this car originally at $120k and then backing off down to $84.5k they move the car across town from Auto Kennel to Original Rare and try and jack the price BACK UP by another $15k?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1990-Porsch...-/332401683760

Very disingenuous of them to not mention in the description that the car does not have a numbers matching engine. Considering that's the whole reason the car had zero chance of moving at the ridiculous $120k asking and hasn't moved at $84.5k for the last month. At least the original auction description from Auto Kennel divulged the engine replacement. Kind of convenient how the current description leaves out that useful piece of info but manages to describe the car as "investment grade".

But hey let's increase the asking price and hope to find a sucker that hasn't done their DD.

I agree with you. The closer i look the more questions pop up. Odd wear on the seats usually seen on high mile cars? Full respray? Clean car but dirty frunk. Usually seen on less cared for or higher miles.

Does anyone know how the vin numbers leave the factory for ROW cars? The US cars have the vin number in the same color as the tub.

Not saying there is anything wrong but these require some serious objective documentation regarding actual miles and how they left the factory before I would even consider a PPI.

The non matching numbers just killed it for me at anywhere near there asking price.

awwwwwe man,... and this made the difference for me,...

"... All U.S. Porsche 964 coupe models came standard with sunroof, so with the absence of the sunroof, this car takes on the characteristics of the highly sought after Carrera RS. The Carrera RS is a super lightweight limited production rear wheel drive 964 variant based on the 911 Carrera Cup race car."

cuz for a few minutes there, I really thought I was looking at a Cup Race car based on that write-up. ...

Exclusivity and some cool colors and options you don't see in the states. I doubt there is a huge difference in the drive from a properly set up/maintained US (sunroof) and ROW (slick top) C2 Coupe.

dunno about the "so" superior. just superior.

lighter weight is good.
no sunroof is good,
lower height is good.
better headlights is good

the tired shocks/springs comment is a bit weird. do N American shocks never wear out?

That's my car, Vandit. I have had several people out to see it, including a few rennlisters complete with Bosch Hammer :-) Only fault we found was rear blower motor failure. I hope that someone here buys it, but if not, I was also contacted by Singer who may have someone interested. We'll see but it would be best if an enthusiast could take it, and apply their own particular touches.

Sunroof aside, the premium they're asking over an NA car suggested it is a very differentiated car, not something that can be added to a US car for not too much money.

I'm saying you're going to replace 25yo shock and spring components anyway, whether they're US or RoW parts. It's not like an RS where it has unique suspension components like the the spherical top mounts.

Singer 911 for sale. Listed in the UK but it's a LHD car. I believe it's the Monaco commission. 5000mi.

Same car.
