Surely a nice example, asking top dollar. But, if she hasn't had any service in a while, and possible needs re-seal/valve adjust/full service, she's priced a bit steep. If she was recently gone-through with a full service, then the price seems OK. But, if a new buyer has to put $10K in deferred maintenance into it...

Yeah he definitely is asking more of an optimistic price on that one. Paint and interior look great though and the low mileage is nice.

Perhaps the bubble is finally starting to lose a bit of helium? Keeping up with the C2s and C4s bid on and sold on ebay recently I'm not seeing many go north of $40k.

More of that has to do with the quality of the product which doesn't warrant north of $40k. Although the fact that some of these cars sell for what they do based on condition and history is astonishing.

The cars you are seeing on ebay are not very good examples. They are being sold appropriately.

And it is January... Do we typically see much seasonality in the market? Is be curious as to what someone in the industry feels about the peak time of year for the market.

It has some impact but not like in the past. I searched for my turbo and 928 for over a year for each and time of year had no impact on my search and product was available. I purchased my GTS in february after a year of searching IIRC.

Although early spring usually is when we see new price records set for these cars.

When the Porsche racetrack in Carson, Ca. Opens in late 2016 just outside of Los Angeles, I expect there will be an increased demand for these cars.

think their policy will be the same in Carson as in Atlanta....test vehicles on the track for prospective buyers, etc...

I don't see how that could possibly raise demand.

I called the number on the Porsche experience website and got a call back the same day from Colin. There are talks about allowing the classics and enthusiast owned cars on the Carson track. There would need to be inspections and there are insurance hurdles...but There is very strong demand.
