Long day spannering. Didn't achieve half as much as I'd hoped (do you ever?) but the engine is bolted in, trailered back to mine and just closed up in the freshly repainted garage
Will post some pics over the weekend, and all being well a video of it running.

Love your work Rob, inspiring.
Ive since installed an electric ps pump, blatantly copying your procedure! Just need to wire it in.
Busy assembling doors and seals after the rebuild. Cannot believe how many new seals and felts there are in a door... not to mention the rest of the car.
I can never seem to achieve enough in a day.

Not likely. It's plumbed in but the wiring is making me scratch my head. Steering works for the time being so a job for later! Mot on Wednesday. Engine sounds awesome, when revving it but the idle needs sorting. Takes a while to stabilize.
I'll take some photos and put a new post up as I don't want to hijack the most awesome thread on rennlist!

It's been rather eventful over the last few days
On Thursday morning I strapped the engine onto the trailer and headed over to Lemass. The target was to simply bolt the engine back in and trailer the car home. Given the decidedly changeable weather I didn't want to risk fitting the engine at home with no shelter so Tom was kind enough to lend me the corner of his yard for a few hours. After-all, it shouldn't take that long right?
Open wide and say 'AHHHH'
Well its fair to say it took me longer, a lot longer, to get everything in and bolted down than expected. Edged everything in millimeter at a time. Started at about 1pm and finished at 7pm but it then took a further hour to get the darn thing on the trailer. There was nowhere to winch from on the rear so I had to put together the rear impact bar and go from there. Again, sorry to keep to you so late Tom but it was massively appreciated!
Work commenced early again the next morning. The aim was to finish the engine install and check everything in prep to start it the next day.
Hmmm still a lot to do in here, but at least the hand brake works
All fittings are stainless. Not going to put anything else in a wheel arch!
Not everything is in there yet but the area around the right hand drive shaft has to be the busiest part of the car. Its crammed in there and some how you're expected to re-fit the earth strap to the tub of the car. What a PITA job that is!
After spending 1.5 days faffing around fixing this here, it once more lives and breathes
With the motor now sorted, attention was turned to the multitude of other jobs. I moved onto the front right arch and secured the pipes and loom, and fitted the horns & alarm.
Headlight harness fitted
Next up it's the hydraulics. Need to fit the calipers, change the rear pressure valve and bleed all the air.

Hi Rob, it's getting there, here's to wishing you great weather and the time to get her finished as soon as possible.
I'm sure I read somewhere in this thread, where you bought your hoses from, but would you mind giving the info again.
Cheers
