Rob. Just to say. Your thread is inspirational. You have become a corner stone of DIY.

Well done - valued member.

This weekend's antics:
I picked up the remainder of the parts from Lemass

... and the new heat shields from Porsche. A luxury but I couldn't bring myself to put the original mangled shot-to-sh*t ones back on the freshly painted bumper.

Starting reassembling the front bumper. Looking forward to putting this bit back on the car one evening this week

The lions share of the time was spent sorting out the loom. My car doesn't have AC, rear defroster, rear blower, rear wiper, sunroof, stereo or the big electric seats. What I wanted to do is remove all this from the loom. I'm not talking about just snipping off the connectors and taping the end, I mean total removal. From device, to switch, to fuse box. To help with this I printed the wiring docs on A3 and laminated them. This proved a worthy exercise since you need constant referral to many sheets at the same time.

With that job now done, my loom is HALF the size it was and I no longer have the engine bay fuse box More pictures to follow.

Not as much as I thought they might. The large center piece was I think about 140 and the two smaller pieces 50-60 each. I just couldn't reuse the existing ones. The fastening rivet holes had corroded out, chunks missing etc.. it would have looked like a pigs dinner.

You bought at the right time, I just looked these up and they're stupid money now, at least here in the states anyway. Dealer list is $148 each for the sides and $341 for the center. I really wanted to replace mine too.

The project is looking great by the way.

The metal pieces should not be falling to pieces, only the tin foil part. People on here have successfully refurbished the original pieces w/ heat foil from McMaster-Carr.
