I like it. It definitely looks buffed out and tuff. However, I think it is perhaps a little too Singer inspired. No one does Singer like Singer. It's very hard to duplicate a car that takes two thousand man hours to build.

Indeed. I'm all up for backdates. But this just looks like a replica of a Singer. If you can't get a Patek Phillipe then get an IWC - not a replica Patek.

For those interested the car is owned by a chap called 'Gary Walters'. He posts in the '964 Club' Facebook group. The car has been for sale for a little while now - £76K

I'll take DP Motorsport or PStephens back date every time.

^^^ +1 those are both very nice.

Black-betty, I'm considering getting a new faceplate from porschedials.com for my rev counter and rotating it like yours (in red). One thing I've been wondering. With each update I do, I check that the car can be returned to original in the future, so kept my old door cards etc and have a hoard of original stuff in my garage attic. When putting in the new faceplate, does the original faceplate come out clean to enable future use?

Cheers

This is actually a SC, with a 964 body kit. 964 R Gruppe nonetheless...
Blacked-out lights, mesh engine lid, center exhaust, small mirrors, etc.

Nice touch with the mirror.

Lightspeed Classic #4 is looking pretty good.

I really like the interior touches. Since I have deleted the radio, I'd love a simplified dash like this.

Been wondering lately: where does one find the chrome trim for the windows to backdate a 964 into a pré-impact?
Thx!

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Nice find!

From the Zuffenhaus blog (no affiliation):

964 Backdate Notes: Hybrid Steering Column

Since 2006, we’ve been coming up with ways to backdate the 964 model into proper longhood 911s. One item that we’ve had the opportunity to share with other shops is the hybrid steering column, which allows the use of 69-73 levers, clamshell, and steering wheel and really makes for an authentic interior statement.

We’re posting our notes here for public consumption – enjoy and good luck!
