My Singer 911 2014 Restoration
To those that may care (I don't even know if this is the right forum for this),
It is with tremendous excitement that I share that I have locked in the March 2014 build slot for a Singer Vehicle Designs machine. I had spoken to Rob back in early 2011 about his projects and the timing wasn't right for me. I knew however that SVD was working on something that was on an epic track. Fast forward to the summer of 2013 and I am trying to figure out how to capture more of that sense of special that the Carrera GT gives me. First car I never want to sell. I want more of those kinds of machines. I have been planning on selling my 458 Spider and reallocate that coin.
After carefully considering all the principles that I value, in particular ultimate quality, excellence, and design, I think the Singer product embodies those more than anything else in the automotive world in terms of being The Perfect Machine for my appetites. I am selling the 458 spider back to my dealer and I believe I will get MSRP + 5/10k for it. This leaves only a relatively small delta for me to drop in for the Singer. Incredibly expensive but in delta vs value space space I think its totally justified..and it has 4 seats for my 2 kids to ride!
I look forward to keeping this thread updated as things progress.
In the meantime, if you have links to Epic Classic Porsche Colors that could inspire please share!

Super cool car. Gald to see you take the leap.
In terms of color, the classic 73' RS greens and blues are fun as well as 993GT2 blood orange.
But for a singer i would look to classic 356 colors. Pure, simple and clean.

Wow, congrats !! looking fwd to the result. Entirely Subscribed. Wishes for Many happy miles !!
just a gut feeling here, but the Carrera GT probably makes for a decent distraction to pass the time during the wait period

it will be supremely hard but also pleasureable. As you know, for these types of things the JOURNEY is a huge part of the reward, and so extending it and yet staying close to it through pictures etc will create that much more experiential value in the long run.
No joke, that is real Happiness Science from academia on experiential expenditures! I am maxing out happiness for a long time.

The light grey with a trim color that pops like orange is cool IMO. Don't feel as though you need to follow in the colors of Porsche as this is a unique car. Go with what moves you. This is a car that you can design around you.
Great choice. Looking forward to the dirty details.
Congrats.
