Yup motorway - but with this many 964s, it's quite a site to behold the whole way....

Last year we stuck to the easiest, most direct route which was E40 for the most part, past Brussels. Even with 6 of us plus the VXR8/Monaro gang we still managed to get split up somewhere around Brussels! I think that was mostly due to the huge traffic that converges there. Personally, I also found it rather strange that in order to avoid ending up in the centre of Brussels that I had to effectively exit the main route to find the bypass. But that's probably something to do with me still being a map bloke rather than a satnav user.

I don't see why groups could do different routes if they prefer to or maybe go a different route if someone can suggest something ideal and a couple of stopping points on the way. Maybe avoiding the Brussels crush might even be a good thing?

Steve the Lille route is slightly longer but quicker I been 5 times to Spa and only once via Brussels and the traffic was horrendous

But as I dont have nav I will go with the flow It will be nice to follow for a change and admire all those 64s

If everyone with an android phone adds the 'real time gps tracker' then we can all keep tabs on who knows where they're going and who's, ahem, lost :-)

I quite like the sound of the Lille route for way out if it avoids some of that traffic. It sounds worthy of further investigation.

p.s. I must be a luddite as there will be no androids on board my car.

When we go on the bikes to the 'Ring we go on the Brussels route (if we aren't going on the twisties) but we can filter through the traffic on the ring road. I always thought that if i was in a car i would avoid it!! Hence i would opt for the Lille route.

Cheers
Simon

Agree - avoid brussells, done it both routes, and lille is better, towing or not.

We are on the train, but wont worry about times as we wont keep up with the convoy
