London 964 Spa Francorchamps Weekend 2013 - The Sequel

Nice, that'll go well with mine, it's 90% proof!
Whilst I fitted my new discs and pads, Squealey got on with the more artisan task of fitting the brake duct kit I've had for about 7 or 8 years!
Thanks mate!
Wimped out of taking the 964 to Silverstone today, didn't fancy trying to bed in new discs and pads when I looked out the window at 7am and saw snow!
It's my first time with Pagids, any special bedding in procedure I should be aware of, anyone?

Bedding pagids in......it should say in the box....but basically its something like 3-4 runs from 70 to zero (or there abouts) then rest them. The key point is that you give you them a heat cycle and let them cool. So if you have to do it on track, give them a lap (out and in same lap) of braking quite heavily, then let the car rest for 15mins. It will prolong the life quite a lot, and at the price of pagids, thats a good thing.!!
PS sorry I didnt get to meet any of you at Oulton, must be that the car blended in on the RS day!

SPA 13 Video
For those filming/ contributing footage to the SPA13 video.
I believe with your collective footage we can create something very special. Having many of us involved will mean a wonderful collaboration and the finished film will have your creative stamps all over it. It'll truly be your film when complete.
Settings,
The general census is to keep the image as 'flat' as possible, this means dulling down contrast, colours, sharpening etc all the way down.
This allows us to work with a flat image when it comes to grading and colour correction. Which will give the best results.
I'm with my editor this week and will be going over the best camera settings to apply for GoPros etc.
1080P at max FPS/ frame rate.
Download,
I will have a small laptop + hard drive on me at the track and hotel to download all the kindly donated footage on the fly.
Edit,
This year the film will go through professional post production.
Filming,
We will undoubtably have lots of track footage. Where we would be lacking is in having other shots to brake away from track footage for the film. Having 10 people film the exact same shot from a suction cup through the windscreen on track won't be interesting.
To that effect, please film everywhere. Anything you think interesting.... in the pits, on the motorway, people, scenery, on the train/ ferry, when the cars are parked up, close up of badges, wheels, interiors, engine bays etc.
Keep your shots simple & steady. No fancy or big movements to avoid rolling shutter effect etc. The simpler the shot, the better it will turn out in the edit.
The trick is diversity, a steady hand, simplicity and quantity of footage.

I also checked out the brakes at the weekend. Did a system brake bleed and slammed in a new set of Hawk blues. The difference they have in initial bite is incredible compared to the road pads that were in. Probably also helped by the Toyo R888s going back on the car.
Just need to do some messing about with the GoPro now and then it'll be time to go.

Frank my plan for Sunday was to 'snap' away for the morning session before leaving for home I will drive to some of the better vantage points on the circuit and use the GP3 and the Nikon to get some footage at the more far out corners with the aid of a monopod
