GREAT UK 964s FS... Which one would you take home?

Can't blame you for thinking 'dodgy'. I know all the usual Pcar dealers around here but this is a new one on me. Like yourself I've found no dealer info on them. Maybe they just got lucky and picked up from a friend of friend or similar. Date permitting, I'd be happy to give a second opinion if you decide to go and have a look. If good, you'd then want one of our local specialists to look it over. I could even contact a dealer friend to find out if he knows anything about the dealer in questions. The only danger of this is that if it's a good car my 'dealer friend' might snap it up and put it up for more!
BTW there's a white C4 closer to you. Private sale but looks like quite a bit of TLC needed:

relatively cheap though!

Based on your description of dealer and car it sounds like this one???......

What's interesting is that towards end of last year it was on ph as private sale twice if I recall correctly around £27-28k...took a while to sell. Then appeared on ph again just a week or so ago again as a private sale at £35k....guy seemed to have spent some money on it at Fearnsport. The seller is relocating so may have it sor with them. Any idea how much they want for it? I was thinking £40-50k. We just hope for the current owners sake he sold it to them and its not sor as these guys don't gave the best rep.

They're asking 3k above the private sellers asking price. It's a gorgeous car but way more than I'm willing to spend on a miled up, GR, C4. I suppose the miles don't really bother me, given the condition, but I just don't see that as a 38k car. I don't know, maybe I'm out of touch/kidding myself??

Good eye, you're right it is the same car, didn't realize it until you pointed it out.

I hope it doesn't sound like I'm shooting down every car you guys are suggesting. I'm not. I'm considering each of them and appreciate the help immensely

From what I have read, be careful with Hendon Way Motors...
http://reallymeansounds.com/forum/th...motors.137082/
I'm sure some of the London guys will be able to point you in the direction of dealers that are to be trusted. Maybe it's even worth asking them to source a car for you? Maybe Phil Raby or someone offering a similar service could help you secure a good car?

You're not the first to warn me about HWM, which is a bit hard to reconcile and disappointing at the same time. When you look at their stock; Carrera RS, Ferrari Daytona, etc, its hard not to be a little 'star struck.' That, coupled with their history makes me think that the owner or owners must be genuine enthusiasts. Perhaps the complaints are generated by people like us who are at the absolute bottom of their spectrum of buyers. Its not like they treated me rudely but rather with an air of indifference. I worked in sales at a large dealership when I was in college and can tell you unequivocally that I would have been fired on the spot for letting a customer like myself walk out without a deal. Here's me -> No spousal approval required, no financing issues, checkbook in pocket, ready to make a deal on a car that I had an appointment to see but you sent out for service. Really!?
Like I said, nothing shady there, just monumentally stupid. Even the cheapest car on a dealers lot is an expense. I do wonder if the owner keeps on top of how hard his staff are working.

Good advice. I've been in touch with RPM Technik and they have an inbound potential. May reach out to Raby as well.

The possible reason "some" dealers "have the car out for service" is they don't have the car at all, just a few photo's hastily taken with their dealer plates attached with handy quick clips (look closely).
All done by contacting a private seller saying they have a buyer for their car bring it down to them, only for the phantom buyer not to show up, but not before the car can be whipped around the corner for a few photos (funny how cars are never photographed outside or inside their showroom.)
In a case like this I would contact the last private advert contact details, chances are they still have the car.

And this. Call the number from the original ad as pointed out by BigUnit they're the same car.

Yeah, that ones torturing me a bit. Obviously has a huge upside if it only needs cosmetics. If I had the resources I had in the US (garage, lots of tools, etc) I'd consider it more strongly. Given my situation here I should really only be looking at 'done' cars. I hope it doesn't sound like I'm shooting down every car you guys are suggesting. I'm not. I'm considering each of them and appreciate the help immensely

Saw this listed on pistonheads at lunchtime via an alert, appears it was sold by mid-afternoon

In this market it looked decent value, very few examples that colour
