Starting to look for a 964 now . The RS rep at e porsch
Ticks a lot of boxes and could be a great starting point .
Anyone know this car , previous owner etc ?
The engine rebuild was a long time ago so may not mean much ,
Especially if tracked a lot . Waiting for more info from Roly
Before making a trip to view .

Definitely a beautiful car! Just my luck that seemingly every 964 manual Coupe for sale in the area is in my least desired color. I don't suppose anyone has a nice non-metallic blue (Maritime, Riviera, etc) laying around that they want to sell me?

So what you're saying is, if I buy the paint, you'll donate the labor?
Between a color change, tiptronic swapout, and Cab to Coupe conversion I should only be into the car for about 80k!

I found a car that I am considering viewing on Monday.

The pros;
-C2 coupe (my most desired spec)
-Low-ish miles
-Cups, mirrors, ducts, lowered, rear wiper delete (all the small mods I would otherwise do myself)
-Price (not a steal but somewhat reasonable for a C2)
-Looks very clean in pics and is in the London area
-Not Guards Red (GR is a beautiful color, just not to my taste)

The cons;
-Tiptronic

So.......am I crazy for even considering it? I never thought a tip would be in play but I'm just not seeing many choices on the market. I figure I might as well give it a try, what's the worst that could happen? Thoughts?

If you want a Tip, and the gearboxes are rock solid, then why not. Just take account of values being less than a manual. But if manual cars go up and it gets harder to find good cars then this IMHO will have a positive impact on the Tip market

Is it this one? as it was owned by someone here, and a lovely looking 964 it is too. As to whether a tip? I would have any colour, any spec , mileage etc before a tip. Just my opinion though

having driven a few and disliking them alot.

If it's only for road driving it'll still be fun and might even turn out to be a benefit for London traffic.
