Apparently the current owner has had it since 2005 but you're right about the welds being there. Thanks for letting us know.

anyone wishing to attend that is a PCGB member can book through the club office, (there are only a few spaces left)

anyone that has had the car serviced/purchased at OPC Glasgow would probably have had an invitation by now. but you could also try giving them a ring !

Cost is £200 for the full day - open pit lane, (I will be up but not with the 964, it will be the 6RS)

regards
Scott

^^ interesting advert. All that talk of originality and concours and yet to my mind the wing mirrors, steering wheel, clear lenses and wheels (at least) are aftermarket. Granted if the owner has all the originals it'd take a few hours to return to standard. Engine rebuild at 50K and now at 104k... due another one surely

That's what I thought...looks like it might have been concourse 50k miles ago.

I won a regional concours with my clear lenses, cup wheels and teardrop mirrors. But, I have a private plate and aside from the clear lenses it could be standard spec.

As for the engine build at set mileages, i know this is a can of worms and some (especially those who make money rebuilding engines) are firm in their stance that a rebuild is a certainty after a given age or mileage but mine at 61k pulls like a rabid bull and drips only the tiniest amount of oil when left for months and the engine has never been rebuilt.

Perhaps mine is an exception, or perhaps there is no rule.

You could also argue as to why an engine was rebuilt at 50K miles. It looks like an early engine, so likely purely for oil leaks and that the usual wear items like valves and guides, piston rings etc were all OK and not replaced.

As for oil leaks, mine doesn't leak a drop at 110K miles, still runs great and has never been rebuilt.
