First off colin, car looks fantastic. When you say 993 upright, do you mean the regular upright, or the rs upright? Reason I ask is I put the regular 993 uprights in my 964, and it did wake the car up, and I could never really figure it out. I just thought we always had a bad alingment on it.

Aircon
Jack pulled out all the aircon components today to give them a check over. The alloy pipes are going to be painted black and the heater unit will be stripped bare. We are planning to ditch the conventional 964/993 control system in favour of the early 911 slider/cable unit, so the box will end up containing the aircon evapourator, an up/down flap and a couple of fans.

ABS system
Reservoir in place with the correct 993 brake pipes, awaiting the correct master cylinder. We could use the standard 993 cyl but would prefer to go with the unique 993RS version, however we're getting quoted £1250 from Porsche!! Time to get the engineering head in gear to see if we can revert to the GT3 cylinder by using a 993C2 servo underneath - but the only problem with this cunning plan is that the engine is going to run ITB's so will not have a good vacuum source, which is why we initially proposed the 993RS electric booster pump system. Ho hum, need to think more.

an electric vacuum pump is often used on hot rods that have poor idle vacuum

No, I mean the regular unit which are readily available secondhand. You have to use them with 993 lower ball joints as well, but other than that are a direct replacement and come with the radial caliper mounts to take the larger 993 four pots. You get a definite win on the turn-in, in fact all customers who have taken our advise have noticed the improvement immediately. There was nothing wrong with your alignment.
And as far as the project, this is unbelievable. Really.

Thanks Geoffrey, I figured that would be the only option for an ITB equipped engine. The jury is still out for us on which way to go, however the easiest option now seems to be buying a 993RS master cylinder and fit it to a stock 993 hydraulic booster slave unit, however more on this later.
Today the front hub bearing retainer plates arrived, so Richard put the hubs together and fitted them to the car. Should not be too long before we can look at it with wheels on and deduce what we need to make it look right; a quick glance at the back end already shows that we will probably need a rear wheel with a 5" outer rim. Nice!

Thanks for the big guys, your feedback is very much appreciated when I'm sitting here loading photos late into the night...
I don't have much to post tonight because I have spent the entire day at my IT consultants planning out much needed upgrades to the 9m website and Meisterplan (the 9m company database), however I did manage to ****** a couple of shots of the 4 channel brake lines going in on Monday and the new front aircon condenser in its box.
