How thick is the adapter? Just wondering of this could allow for the fitment of centre lock BBS E28's on the 964?
Thanks
Chris

Colin, any more updates? I'm keen on seeing the motor write up myself. I know you guys have probably been working full bore over there, but this build is what brings me to the board(and your other posts). Keep it up!

Sorry for the leave of absence boys, it's that work thing getting in the way of having a good time again.
Lots of progress, but all in details that do not seem to amount to much. Robin has been working on the heater box this week, deleting everything apart from the aircon evapourator and direction valves. The plan is to bin the stepper motor controls and replace them with a set of early 911 heater sliders to save weight and provide the correct early 911 look to the dash.

Meanshile, Jack has been working under my supervision sorting out the oil system. The (freshly painted) 964 oil thermostat fits in the usual location under the oil tank (which will be filled from inside the engine bay), along with stock 964 lines and oil filter housing.
The front oil coolers are proving to be a bit of a nightmare, but I think we are getting there now. The original plan to use a standard laterally mounted 964 oil cooler has been abandoned in favour of the late 3.2 Carrera / 930 turbo unit which allows a lot more wheel / tyre clearance. New oil lines will have to be produced to fit this, but relatively speaking it is an easier job than getting the 964 cooler to fit.
The front mounted Setrab cooler is also proving to be a pain as well. This rad fits nicely into the opening of the front bumper, however we now need M22x1.5 banjo fittings for the end because there is not enough room for a conventional in-line connector. Any suggestions here would be welcomed.
Fan assistance will be used on both coolers, we'll finalise this once the pipework is done just in case there is a clash of space issue.

The centrelock hub is 30mm thick, uses conventional steel 911 nuts to hold it on and BBS M72 wheelnuts in LH & RH threads.

Gearshift cable mountings were finalised last week, this is the basic bracketry before full fabrication and the routing of the cable past the inner trailing arm mount. Special order motorsport cables will be commissioned for the final installation.

You mentioned this once before. Is it a fairly straightforward operation, or are grizzled guys and a machine shop required? Given the.... idiosyncratic? nature of the HVAC controls in these aging machines it would be nice to have something simpler to fall back on.
