Not trying to be negative, but if you have to buy racing fuel going forward then the cost argument doesn't really come into it.... Good luck and let us know what you think.

That was a bit of sarcasm... I was joking... I agree.

Will your chip work in my car, and can you take advantage of the lack of O2/cat? I can send my ECU number if you wish.

I know that Royal mail will deliver to SA (have received other shipments via RM). Does your USA offer hold for ROW customers?

Thanks,

Le Roux
Hi,

SA cars are fine. If you can pay in USD - then the USA offer will apply. Ship costs are the same. Just send your order using PayPal (same money back warranty applies).

Chip is fine with O2 or non O2 cars and will perform better without O2 sensor and cat. The partial load map has been fully optimised.

Any further questions, please email at andrew@promaxmotorsport.com

Many thanks.

Andrew

I've just ordered a chip and have scheduled some dyno time in late May. I'll get the chip installed along with a major service that is due. I'll get the baseline ran and add the chip to see what we have.

Could be interesting.

Russ, what fuel grades do you have up there? 91 or 92?

Thanks!

A pathetic 92. But it's what I got to work with.

So that makes the 91 we have here in Ca. uber-pathetic...

Well, I just sent my order in for the chip. I am going to give it a try. Also if I can find an awd dyno in my area, I will put it on a dyno to see what the gains are. Does anyone know of one in the St Louis, Missouri area?

Hi All,

I forgot to mention that every order for a 964 ProMAX Performance Chip also receives a finely honed high performance writing instrument.

the ProMAX Motorsport ball point pen is a light weight, but stylish performer. It's translucent casing and twist grip retraction make it a stylish addition to any office or home. Keep one in your car. ;-)

Have a good week all!

Regards,
Andrew

Andrew, I received the chip today. I'll get a chance to install it later this week.

Meanwhile, I have a question.
The install directions state the FQS switch should be set to zero.

What is the default setting?
If I am changing the default setting I'd like to know what effect this has on the car please.

Thanks!

The fqs, if its what i think you are talking about, changes the mixture and timing. The default setting is 0 (counterclockwise as far as it will turn as I recall).

There are a few past threads about this thing. Not all cars had it. I think the earlier ones did and was phased out at some point.

The 964 DME has no fuel quality switch. The coding plug (if fitted) tells the DME if the car is a manual/tip and if it has a cat with O2 sensor or not. US DME's are also distinguished from ROW.

The potentiometer that is accessible in the 964 DME adjusts the fuel/air ratio on the AFM, and should be left alone.

The fuel quality switch mentioned to in the instruction manual possibly refers to the 3.2 Carerra DME's, but I will let Andrew confirm this.
