Nice looking example. Easily worth its current bid. Although no before dry ice blasting pics on a 90 engine?? I suspect with no miles since the ice blasting there could be some weeping. The choice of KW on such an original car I have to question. I would think fresh shocks would have done equally as well or just left it stock.

There are some things that don't add up. In 90 the front calipers had raised cast lettering. These appear to be the later with painted decals. Also the caliper feed lines and through bolts would be painted and no lettering in white on rear calipers. There are a number of items I am assuming have been replaced. Not a bad thing but not original. Clearly the front left at min and roof have been resprayed. Looks to be a quality job.

Interesting C2 I guess we will see where it ends up.

this is certainly an interesting one to watch. i've been watching since it hit BaT the first day and, i have to say, i'm surprised by the $150k with 5 days to go. i do think it will likely sit there for several days now, but $160-170k doesn't seem like a stretch. the 'speedway' car brought $161k and we know about that car. i have 27k miles on mine with sport seats and this is making me think. quality 964s have jumped in the last 3-4 months quite a bit. is it the Singer Turbos that already have 250 orders? is it that everyone is finally realizing that this is the best combo of the classic silhouette, more modern improvements, and the 3.6? a lot of factors are contributing, but the rise is impressive.

I think with the popularity over the last 5-6 years, many of these are finding their permanent or long-term homes which continues to shrink the pool of available cars.

I feel the same about Baltic. Just not a color that draws you in, but on the whole, that's probably the most "complete" 964 listing on BaT in recent memory. Similarly a bit surprised by the early bidding to 150. Can't imagine it goes all that much higher.

I just bought my old 1990 C4 in Polar Silver over Linen back after a 22 year hiatus (thought it was 17). Not disclosing the price....

It has Raf 12 way seats with a few X-options, 220 and a fantastic history including Vasek Polak owning the car and doing his 3.6 head gasket/stud revision to RS + spec, flywheel/clutch conversion and a full suspension and an excellent alignment that I have kept all of his settings for. He modified the caster a bit and the car tracks like no other 964 I have driven. Lowered - but zero bump steer and incredibly easy to drive with the typical understeer of the C4 relatively neutralized.

I pick it up on April 15th and will share a bunch of photos... Plus current driving impressions after someone else driving and maintaining it for 15,563 miles...

Less than half of the Baltic Blue car. But then again, I bought it for $24,500 in 1998 with 54 k on it. Sold it for $28,000 in 2001 with 78k on it and bought it back with 93.5k for ???????

Don't cha love it?

These prices blow my mind! To be fair it's a fantastic sports car. It just hurts seeing old messages when these were in the 40s.

Congrats,

Apparently there are deals to be had. I was recently informed of a very low mileage targa that was acquired by someone for a ridiculously low amount. 22k original mile car but hasn't been driven since 1998. Price was closer to actual miles. If only I could find cars like this. I love bringing them back to life. At least it was purchased by an enthusiast and not a flipper. However this is one of those stories we only hear and dream about.

220 on a C4? I thought they had the hydraulically controlled PSD system from the 959 and 928GTS.
