Porsche 964 - 200kg challenge

I just tried to order some Tillett seats and do the same setup you have with the inverted planted offset brackets, but learned that the B5s (which I wanted to use to keep 3 point belts) have totally different mounting points and won't work.
Hard to justify 9lb seats if I'm going to need 20 or more lbs of plate+rail+brackets to mount them.... wish I had Jonte's production capabilities to make my own offset brackets with 23cm spacing!

True, the B5 side mounting points are just 23 cm wide, vs. the B6 standard 29 cm. But Tillet makes a pair of 23 cm brackets with an offset that should work nicely with some drilling. No need for the Planted bracket, that's a lead weigh to be sure. PM me if you like. I don't want to get too off track from this thread.

Tilletts are really great for anyone that wants to sit very low in their car. With the brackets I’ve designed I’m using the top most mount without sliders and it works for me being 5’8. My bud did also get a set of brackets from me and he’s very very tall and he ended up going for second holes from the top + sliders.
it really helps the way the base is inclined in the 964 as it lowers the position the taller you are and further back you slide the seats.
I will use a 6-point harness in my car but will have to design also for a 3-point as the inspection requires it. Then I’ll just take the 3-point out because it’s not needed on the track.
Feel free to send me a PM if you need help with the brackets.

Your thread may be my all time favorite on rennlist. You're an inspiration (if only I had the skills, patience, and tools). Nice graphic and sponsors, it looks great. Can't wait to see it on track in the future.

Wrap looks good!
When you say do something different for the rear lights, do you mean non-964? Or dress the stock ones up somehow?

Loved the episode
But found myself shouting at the TV, that you're not changing the offset of the wheel centre so the wheel will not change location!
Just changing the rear barrels gives you more clearance on the inner, which is great for the front with the steering but makes no difference to the wheel location on the hub.
At one point you even pushed the front wheel out further with a spacer...
But swapping the front beams and the mounting points was a stroke of genius

cool video. But i guess, the front is still to tight! Why not going with a 235/295 combo? GT3`s had (often) 235 front...
Sad that you have to fight with spacer because of the 991 brake... changing back to a 997 caliper is not an option?
Is 11' in the rear really the maximum, you could fit? I would have expected that the wide body will also eat something like 12'

I have gone through every permutation of wheel tire offsets for a WB RS setup The fronts can handle a 9.5 ET 57 using a 245 the 993 longitudinal in the outermost setting assuming you have rolled fenders or cleaned the Fglass to flush. You will get some rubbing at full lock with this setup on the wheel well liners assuming you are using any. I did not like the feel using the inner points myself after moving to the outer most settings.
I found this to be the best setup better than using the inner narrow body mounting points and the 993 longitudinal alone. The further the front tire is pushed out gives better grip and high speed cornering.
The factory RSR used 11 ET5 rears you can go as wide as 12's by adding an inch to the inside barrel, but tire sizes are limited if you can find a 305 or 315 it would be nice but 295 is adequate. No doubt once the engine is installed and the suspension driven on for a little, things will settle out and you can make adjustments to the camber and toe to fit everything.

I went a bit back and forth on the widths and ultimately decided to copy the old RSR widths that I believe were 9 and 11". You can fit more in the back but I'm worried that wider will not make the car faster.

My plan is to run without full inner wheel well liners and simply put a guard to protect the coolers in front of the tires. I'm not sure how that will turn out in the end, but that's the plan right now.

Here are the factory RSR wheels 9 1/2" fronts and 11 rears. I believe but don't hold me to it that the 9's came with the same outer barrel as the turbo 3.6's 8" fronts.

To Jonte's point, 12's probably will not make you faster unless grip is an issue coming out of corners which is probably not a big concern with 295's.
Anyways, can't wait to see the next episode.
