I essentially made an RS stub axle by cutting the front axle from a C4.

The 94 C4 TL used the outer settings but haven't put much thought into it. I assume you could just use the axles from that car. If you try to use the 993 longitudinal maybe a spacer at the inner CV but it would need to be pinned and some work to be safe. Both of my track cars are C4's converted to C2 so not a concern.

Yes Jonas you have to use the brakes to tighten things up, one of my considerations when making the parts, not unlike tightening the center locking hubs.

Finally got another piece done and got the car down on the ground! The new spring plates and uni-***** really has a nice feeling to it!!

What you're doing is amazing! One question: you said that the OEM bushing of the inner arm (the one that contains the toe and camber adjustment) has a sort of uniball. Mine has the rubber cracked, since it has an uniball inside, do you think this can affect the drive under load or not? Thanks.

I believe it could, and possibly even more severe if it would brake properly.

What I’m not completely certain about is if the rubber is between the uni-ball and the spring plate or if it’s just a dust cover. There seems to be more than one version of these and if it’s indeed structural rubber I would change it.

In the ones previously installed on my car the rubber was only a dust cover.

At my track qpe, i have those FVD monoballs used. Together with 935 springplate an monoball at the front a-arms, the handling and the feeling for the car is brilliant!

Regarding the oem springplates: i did a suspension (already do) refresh at my convertible and the springplate has monoball. The rubber is just the seal... if the rubber is shot, the bushing is going to get toast very soon i was told. There are companies, that deliver just the rubber seal to refresh this at the oem part...

This is the coolest build ever! I feel like you and me are going to need to get out on track for a race 😜

Do you have a target completion date for the build?

I’m absolutely up for a race! I’ll have the car out on the track this year and then street legal next year. It’s getting closer every day...

Pistons and barrels it is!
It was good with some extra time this weekend to finish this piece and get some of the engine back together!

Tillet seats for the win!

Watching you get onto the Tillet seat was a hoot. I'm 6' 4", running with Planted brackets with Recarro universal sliders underneath. The seats are still a bit low, but perfect with a helmet on. Tillet offers cushions for about $200. They won't raise the height much, but they do provide critical traction to keep you from sliding around in the seat.

I've really enjoyed following this thread. Keep up the great work!

Tillet seats for the win. Headroom is not an issue for these seats.

I just tried to order some Tillett seats and do the same setup you have with the inverted planted offset brackets, but learned that the B5s (which I wanted to use to keep 3 point belts) have totally different mounting points and won't work.

Hard to justify 9lb seats if I'm going to need 20 or more lbs of plate+rail+brackets to mount them.... wish I had Jonte's production capabilities to make my own offset brackets with 23cm spacing!
