Yes, not sure if there's an advantage over the cheaper Wossners though..

I think it being made from material closest to OE and coating that in some cases survived 500.000km on original pistons is worth extra $400. Piston pin difference is quite big too..

The Wossner coating is a specific coating for Alusil - not just an anti friction coating as some other manufacturers are trying to pass off as an Alusil coating.

BTW - the Mahle pins are just plain heavy. Too much material for the application. Mahle does make a good piston but if I were to use those I would swap out the pin for something better. Adding weight at the piston is the worst place to add weight in the entire engine.

BTW....I prefer to think of the Wossners as 'less expensive'...cheaper just sounds wrong!

I would heed Chris' advice....I did...Thanks for the Inconel bellow idea Chris. That is what I did. While waiting for the coatings I decided to go with drive by wire using a GT3 Throttle and ended up flanging the entire exhaust to make swapping out cats/resonators easier.

Hi guys, new on this forum, or any forum for that matter. Currently planning on a full redo of my 951 with a full 2.5L build up that made 310 Whp & 294 Wtq...that I did nine years ago...

Since budget will never allow me to pursue anything more that a 2.7L engine, I've always been curious on how these 3.0L Plus engines drive. How is the overall street drivability of say anything above 350 Whp on the streets, since my car with only 310 Whp was at times down right scary to drive...and I am not a novice driver...just curious with heavy dose of envy...

Thanks for the great projects, info, and pics......

Compared to wossner these will probably take 5x as much force to deform. Probably that is the reason behind it.

Great work! I'd update the list but the new system doesn't allow editing after a short while. Shawn may be able to update it though?
