Its all good, bro - remember - Live your life, "a quarter mile at a time"

Just did a search... Damn.

That turned into an UUUUUUUGly thread. VERY humurous at times though!!!

So.... ST. I'm thinking you've done a search on E-85 and how to tune it in. I've been searching and reading up on it quite a bit for the past 2yrs. Just internet stuff most the time. I can't beleive how tough it is to get information about it. I'm thinking conspiracy. .. seriously.....

But..... It stemmed from an initial want for Methanol. Deciding it was too caustic and expensive. E-85 seemed like the obvious medium. I'm still bent on using this fuel, but I HAVE to know exactly what has to be done to run safely before I truly attemp it. There are plenty of tuners out there that have done it for a long time. I just have to use up some "get back in touch with people from the biz" energy. And if I'm going to get their attention, I want to be ready to go all the way. I'm just not at the "lets do it" point yet, as I would like to get all situatiated on running on my current set up before I get there.

Like almost everything with these projects. Your pioneering spirit has lit my way. (It's been alot cheaper letting you figure it out first!! )

Soooo. Lead the way!!!!! (attempt at humor) - Honestly, If you don't do it, I will probably have it figured out in the next 3-4 months. I will share my findings.

95one if you need any info about it LMK.

I realize my street cred isn't up here yet. Just started posting here, but you have my word that I have been running it for years (ethanol) and have been running E85 for a long time in my 944 and now in my 51.

I think I'll become a member so I can put up some photos of my stuff, I like this place too so that is a +

+1 for E-85. It is what I run. Gasoline Lambda values are pretty close for E-85. More then good enough to get you in the ballpark. Typically I need about ~25% more fuel for E-85 then Gas equivelent. However I get only 0-1 counts of knock during hard pulls, with 3 degrees more ignition timing and 6psi more boost! As soon as I can get the time to throw in something bigger then my K27, I plan on really pushing the E-85 envelope...

Well with my newest time it looks like I should be #1 for now, just wanted to get it updated.

I ran a 12.228@115.18mph. 1.926 60' and 7.967@91.6mph for the 1/8th. I will also add this to dragtimes.com once I get the timeslip scanned in.

Nice TMS

Rogue ...where are you in Colorado? I'm north of Dnver about 20 miles. Glad to see another person on here taking advantage of the E85. BTW FYI they are doing a promotion in longmont for .85 cents on August 30th

Old Nitrous Setup (Stock Pistons/Rods/Headgasket/Direct Port Nitrous/MSD Ignition and Retard/ 2 Stage Colder Sparkplugs)
(Note Top of slips have been erased alittle to hide some information (Like Shot Size/Fuel Type/Ignition etc..) Also, I would like to say at the time of this run I WAS NO WHERE EVEN CLOSE TO 500WHP! I was actually still under 400WHP!

Picture with NAWS just for Tool!

those times were ok for someone who's been down the track a few times before.

This was ST's first time ever. He made no excuses... He now understands. He spun ALOT.

I'm sure in only his third time at the track he will be blowing away his old numbers.

So..... good job on being one of the few down the Track in the very low 12's. But it's not the same without having to deal with the Turbo lag.

I've used nitrous lots...old school set up

It's an awesome drag tool.. But give him credit for even being there and getting it done on Turbo alone. He'll be faster than those slips soon. So I guess savor the feeling now...

BTW... What axles where you using? Stock? Did you ever break em?

That's pretty fast Fishey. Cred for the times and trap speed with a full weight car with those relativley minimal mods.

I am going to take my car to the drag strip this saturday with 18 285 65 dunlop full slicks! Will see . I am a bit affradi that I will break rear axles but I keep you posted! A friend with 300 zx who clocked 286 on 1km distance (while I did 265) have run hes car to high 11 all day long! I am expecting some fiqures witch start with 11 but you never know! So far 3.0 16 valve variocam setup works quite well. No head lifting, no problems what so ever! But I quess that I have not pass the 500 hp mark yet this is whre those head lifting problems start!

That's why I told you last year I wanted to race YOU!

Wanna race from a roll??

But seriously, I am going to put effort into the 1/4.
I would like to see how well a 2.5 951 can go.

While I sold my Grand National for a 951 to try my skill at carving corners (so cool), I am a drag racer at heart as well. I realize my 951 is not a GN and designed for a different purpose, but I would like to not hang my head or hide in the bushes when someone starts talking about 1320 times. I am very interested in this thread and am very thankful to those pioneering souls willing to risk wallet and transmission so that my learning curve will be more pallatable. I would like to run a realistic 12.95 or better with basically the 340 kit from LR. Thoughts?
