Those cars are just too sweet. I might get near some of the better times in the next month or two, but...... There's hardly any more than a race car left in my 951. They're probably blastin the A/c - Turning up the Stereo and Chilling out in line for the run. So very nice.

I bet you guys that he didn't spend not even half of what any of the drag racers 951's have spent to achieve 12.1 seconds.
I drag my 951 some because I ENJOY IT. Drag racing is an indication of power. Is it the fastest car? Hell no. Buts its fun to what the new vettes get pulled by a 4 banger. The 951 is also a little safer to drag race. If I really wanted to go fast down the drag strip, I would (and have).
I hear the anti-drag racing rant from the exotic guys all the time. Know why? Because they can't do it. The brag about how "fast" their car is but won't hammer it. Have you ever seen what happens on a lot of road races? They start with a DRAG RACE. A lot of the time the first car to the first corner has a HUGE advantage of not being in traffic. But I guess getting off the line hard isn't a big deal because its never used in road racing.

1/4 mile is not an indication of power alone dana, it's a balance of power, transfer of power to the road (traction) and driver's reaction. Get a 5000hp locomotive and see if it makes the 1/4 under a minute. LUISJR993 was right when he said that there is no way a 951 was going to trap over 130 or go below 11sec , you know why because the freaking german engineers who designed the car didn't have the strip in mind. Now get a 400rwhp 951 get it on the track and it will keep up with the best, engage with a 996tt, gt3, cobra, c5 zo6 from a roll and they will be looking at your tail lights.
Enough said, drag race the freaking thing, it is your joy, car and blood after all.

A forced induced car tends to develop more power than a n/a once running cooler intake temperatures due to air flow improve power. Is there anyone that wants to race Luis from a roll 40-120mph run?

I would not mind racing one in several different tests including the 40-120.

Hold on, you have owned a 944 as in 944 turbo?
There are some guys that own 944 turbos in Az post the challenge on the forum.

Luis, the German enginneers did have the standing start 1/4 in mind , somehow modified but nevertheless a standing start with their 0- 1 kilometer performance and 0-200 km/h. That has been done since the early 70's consistantly and usually made it into owners manuals. Germans don't care much, relatively, about the roll you are talking about, vmax is the name of the game.

Weird thing is that I have a collection of articles about the 951 and 99.99 of them expressed how nimble, weak, torque lacking is the 951 from standing still or city driving.

Let's just say I am more familiar with them than most 944 Turbo owners, with the exeption of you and a few others on here.
Luis, your car is light years ahead of the desing of the 944T, it will require serious mods to outperform your car on the track. But just for hard core acceleration, get a t04, 38mm tial, injectors, proper engine management and some 19psi of boost and you are ready to smoke some major car butt out there.
