Are you going to use the GT stuff or someone elses?
Also there seems to be a big push to using more similarly sized rubber front and back in the European scene. I'm considering 315's r 305's f in the future.

Very interesting Carnage King, I'd like to see this in action! I may need your services in the future!

Patrick, GT Racing stuff. The entire front of my car was already GT stuff and I wasnt displeased with it.

Rob I'll take a photo of 305 rubber sitting under the car for ya. I worked my rears before deciding to just say screw it and go wide. What can I say, I'm a ricer, all about asthetics, screw performance, 928 > *

Sounds good Mike, thanks. And I loved that photo shot of you drifting in the other thread too. Nice shot from above.

Helicopters, a jag XJ220, maybe a 962, cross country rallies, Toronto GP, and so on and so forth

OH, I forgot to mention, apparently I'm not allowed in 2 counties in Montana right now

Mike, what rubber are those 305's? If they're street tyres I can see them just fitting, whereas if they're Rspec or slicks as you know they are much wider than the numbers on the sidewall. eg I found the Toyo R888's 295 to have a section width of 311mm so they would be pretty hard to fit. Having said that, anythings possible with a hammer and imagination. lol
I'm probably going down the IFC widebody route, but this is still a road car and I like the better finish that their reputation enjoys.

Nothing real to report right now, I was playing with 335's under "stock" bodywork which I posted in another thread.

You'd still need to really flare out the 1/4 panels to make this fit, but I can assure you a 305 is possible with the mods, possibly even a 315/30R18 but that's REALLY pushing it, you'd need to drop a mm or two from the offset and get it 1 or 2mm off the inner fender housing. I didnt want to put this directly into my project thread as I figured it would be lost there and miss some people that might be able to use this information. These are '02-'04 996 GT2 stock 18x12 wheels ET45. I've been playing with offsets and bodywork a ton so I'd be happy to answer any questions people have with "sizing" to the best of my ability.

Please excuse the quality (or lack thereof) of the photos, didnt have my DSLR with me.

As you can see you'd need to push out the 1/4 panel a good 1/2" or more at the very top to "cover" the tire.

Inner clearance
Parts have been coming in pretty much nonstop. Have a FPGT35R82HTA turbo for the car on the way, bought a worked crank from John @ Vitesse, widebody rear bodywork is here, waiting on the fronts from GT Racing, engine should be going together just after the 1st of the year, wiring is nearly complete, a friend of mine has been working on an aero package (he actually understands that crap and just tells me what to do) and Tim and I have been chatting about an exhaust manifold for me (Modified Stage II Unit). That's about all for now, I promise some photos closer to New Year's.

Just started playing with mock up, need to do some serious cutting in the rear to get things to "fit" as the bodywork was never meant for this chassis.

Anders, and Tool should recognize the engine in the very edge of the photo.

Looks good Mike! And you're right on the rears...but once you get them to fit you'll never look back. The view from the rear is more than most people can handle without crapping themselves!!!

i started mounting that same kit on a 924s awhile back for a guy. I welded U shaped clips to the quarter panel from front to rear and the edge of the fiberglass slipped into them at the top. Then the lowers were to be mounted w/ zeus fasteners and some inner framing was in the works made of some lightweight aluminum or thin steel rod to reinforce the panels. Never got to finish the project but figured i would throw some ideas out there.
