It's a brown manual 79 with blue pasha, looks like a complete car, no rubbies and I think 16" phone dials. $7k in Los Angeles. Here is a screenshot since I cannot get a proper link.

I'm not so sure it's originally brown. That would be a bizarre color combo with the black/blue pasha interior.
It looks like a pretty complete car, with the exception of the aftermarket radio & muffler, which is typical. Needs everything, and 99k miles on the odo (which may not be working & much more) isn't exactly the low mileage that collectors want, but it's worth taking a closer look if anyone is close. Too far for me, but if it was within a few hours of me, I'd be looking.

At the current $40,928, I'm sure it is still less than half what the two previous owners invested in getting it to where it is. Certainly One Of A Kind, and a very nice car.

Gary

PS: This can now be the whipped cream and maraschino cherry for 'icecreammatt's Sundae. Seems well bought at a bit over $52K.

Yes, definitely well bought! Matt is getting an extremely nice car for the money. I'm happy with the result as I really didn't know where it would end up. I figured it would bring somewhere between $40-60K but you never know with not really any others out there to compare to.

WTF is *wrong* with BaT? For weeks there are 2-4 928s being auctioned at the same time and now there are 0.

Great point! We watched Nicoles auction and Just Peachy go through with four others at the same time. Both cars should have brought more IMO and probably all six.

BAT usually does a better job of managing its schedule of auctions...

Default 1978 VIN 9288200044

For sale local to me here in Colorado is a black on black 1978 manual for $15,000.

No sunroof or rub strips. Turbo twists, but otherwise looks mostly unmolested. Ad says it is the 34th 928 imported to the US.

Not for me. I like to drive and monkey with my 928 more than be a steward of a collector car. And no space for another. However, if someone is interested, I would be more than happy to look at it for them.
