Funny I had a 79 just like this one,
It was Hellblau with black leather and a 5 speed,
it got a full respray with Glassurit and medium build clear it was as nice as my yellow cars paint.
My car also ran like a top and it had 175K miles on it,
and after driving 10 0f these cars I bought that 79 and repainted it .
Still thats a car I never should have sold.

78-79 didn't have a jump post cover. And if you wanted to add one you couldn't because it's NLA.
And the large plastic cover won't fit because there is stock weatherstrip along the fender lip. And If that wasn't the case, you still need the jump post cover to secure it.
And if you chose to use the later-style available JPC, you would also need to replace the jump post with the later style.
And then you would have a lot of non-original stuff going on.

I can't find anything to complain about with this one.

I'd suggested that the better way might be to try to sell it whole first, and that didn't work out well, then offer parts. Starts with the "Ending Ownership" thread HERE
Hate to see a good Euro go away as parts.

copy.paste from the advert:
Cool 1979 Euro model Porsche 928
Runs and drives great.
Handles like a modern sports car
Well cared for with documentation
Could be driven or excellent candidate for a full restoration
In today's money, this was a ~$100,000 car in 1979
4.5 liter V8 engine, Bosch fuel injection
5 speed manual rear mounted transaxle
Desirable "telephone dial" wheels
Factory power windows, locks, cruise, AC (not cold) etc
Nice aftermarket custom stereo with sub
This is a rare Euro model which had a hotter engine. (Some of the dash markings are in German)
Condition: Between Haggerty "fair" to "good". Stored in a temperature controlled garage. The car was maintained by a Porsche trained mechanic. I have owned it for 10 years having inherited it from family. Mechanically very nice condition. Glass is great. Power windows work. Period repaint looks good at 15 foot (some fading/checking up close). Interior is a mix of great and presentable (dash shows cracks). Rare original rims are excellent. All original parts are there. Extra mats, car cover, battery under 1 year old, and original manual.
Price: $9850, OBO

Hey guys. The black 86.5 is mine. I had ordered the hood insulation before the photo shoot. I didn’t have time however to install it. I put it in a couple weeks ago. Really happy with it. For some reason I can’t get the image to upload from my iPad.
