928s for Sale

One of our members contacted me about the car and wanted my opinion. As it sat that car was at most a $7k car in need of a ton of work. I'm astounded that it went for as much as it did. I think I quoted him an easy $10k just to get it driveable and double that to make it a reliable driver. It is a mess. Hell, Rog and I bought a lower mile, better condition 86.5 in a better color combination and I think Roger sold it for 1/2 this ones selling price.
Sean, you told it like it is. The buyer is going to be in for a lot of surprises!

This guy is down to $4000 if anyone is looking for an early project. https://centralmich.craigslist.org/c...690090949.html

I like this car. Great entry price for early OB restoration. No rubbies or sunroof. Euro 5-speed. Original radio (I am guessing hard to tell from photos). Plus you can add back the pasha on the seats and still likely be within delivery spec. Very cool. If I was local I would consider this strongly.

To expand on Dr. Bob's request with adding the subject car in the title box above, I am also suggesting that if you are the first to post on a car please try your best to add a picture or two. Especially on Craigslists ads since once they expire they are gone forever.

I have to give guys like Andy a lot of credit. Buying these cars sight unseen and putting the energy into making them ready for sale. I have been making money running salvage and selling cars my whole life and in general, the 928 is tough to make right and still turn a profit selling as a whole unit. I love that there are guys doing it, I think it helps the market out tremendously.
Parts, different story, they do a little better but even then its got to be more of a hobby than a profit driven business with overhead, licenses etc.

Lots of work done recently. Seems like the he took it to a local mechanic (i had used them before for putting winter tires from Tire Rack) so that they can "learn" to work on it.
I'd be surprised if it gets above $10k.
Of course, being eBay, it will be "sold" for much more, but it will bounce back on eBay or elsewhere for sale again.

Sure is, looks like overspray everywhere under the hood. Up front on headlight bar, latch, etc

I have to give him credit, at least he's ruthless (like my rant on FB about the Weissach that he is selling now on eBay) and respect the fact that he's taking chances on his cars selling without reserve alot of times (most of them when he knows he has to rid of them ASAP).
He may had seen the listing here. Car was sold <24 hours after it was posted here by me. Car was sitting for 3-4 days available before that.

I made the jump and decided to post my own car for sale under the parts category, if anyone is interested.

Also, a fully-caged race-prepped 85 is for sale near me. I feel like I've seen this around before, as in online, not in person. Maybe it belonged to someone here?

I'd suggested that the better way might be to try to sell it whole first, and that didn't work out well, then offer parts. Starts with the "Ending Ownership" thread HERE
Hate to see a good Euro go away as parts.
