That's a tough one. On the other hand, since the BaT cars aren't centrally located like at an auction house it's hard to have inspectors available for due diligence, especially if you're selling a 928 in Lodi, CA. I don't think Dr. Brown makes house calls that far. eBay doesn't allow comments, but they also don't make you complete the transaction and charge you a 5% buyers fee if the car was misrepresented. This seller isn't posting a cold-start video, do you think they'd allow/accommodate tens of individual PPIs?
It's a gauntlet, for sure, but there aren't a lot of other places that put collector cars in front of qualified buyers for $99.
Well, that Cassisrot BaT auction is going pear-shaped. Is it true that the OEM bra needs the front spoiler removed?
No. Seller has just assumed he had the correct spoiler (the bumper) and the spoiler attachment points for the spoiler are what he's thinking is for the bra.
Bidding on that car better start going up soon or I'm going to be tempted to jump in.
I could handle investing in the maintenance issues (if the price remained right), I just didn't think I wanted to buy from someone who was acting fishy.
I was in for it for a few more bids, but i'm pretty sure the seller and his husband made some new profiles to do some cheer-leading.
Its an interesting one, the sellers husband is a vintage American car dealer, so you'd think he'd help his husband with handling the investigative questions a bit better.
A cool ending would be it if it transpired the cassis color was actually a vinyl wrap and its a basic color underneath...

For sale 1983 928 Euro S 5-speed - 300 HP model - Sold
Asking price: $7,200. It has 160,000 miles on it.
I'm assisting someone sell this car in Phoenix Arizona. This is the real deal, a 1983 Euro S model 5-speed. It has documented $21,000 worth of service in the past 11 years including a valve-job and upper refresh and torque tube rebuild. I've driven it and it runs very well, has a lot of power - brought a smile to my face. It has the Euro H4 headlamps installed.
The color is rauchquarzmetallic.
The 2nd gear synchro is notchy, the hood paint is a bit thin. The dash is sun damaged and leather shifter boot needs to be replaced.

What is a 'flood damaged' 928 worth? Early car, US 5 speed. I assume the hard parts would be OK, i.e. fenders heads intake, transmission, after cleanup... Has anyone had any experience doing that?
Love the color, but the repaint also painted the entire front lower spoiler. I like it with a clean carfax. The car's been on sell for over a year, and I am surprised it is still for sale. It was asking $9k last year. Bargain for $7k.
IIRC: comes with extra AC system pieces. It is working.

I'm so confused, good thing I don't have any money so I quickly lost interest.
Isnt this the same one that’s been for sale for a while? Used say it had a brand new Maaco paint job. The rooster is definietly an upgrade, but marketing wizard he is not.
Went and checked the car out. The paint is not Maaco and in good shape. TB/WP and a few other things were done in 2013. The dash and rear panels are warped, but the rest of the interior is in good shape and not messed up. I'm tempted by the low mileage and originality, but I don't really need it. What do you guys think? Nothing special about the car, but just a good original example.
